Ultimate Ride Disney Coaster
Ultimate Ride Disney Coaster has announced a licensing deal with Disney Interactive Studios to develop games for the Disney Mouse Company's arcade-style theme park in the US and Canada.
Disney Interactive Studios will distribute the games for US and Canada (as well as Europe) over the next two years.
"Disney is very proud to be associated with the 'Ultimate Ride' brand in the US and Canada. We believe this agreement will provide the best possible value for Disney fans worldwide. We are proud to be associated with Disney's 'Disney Hollywood' legacy and are very proud to be working with Nintendo on the Nintendo 64 title that was just announced," said Phil Milligan, executive vice president of Disney Interactive Studios. "These games have been our biggest growth point and will become an essential part of the company's business and will further enhance the overall profitability of our business."
The Disney DreamWorks Interactive Studio has made a number of licensed titles including Super Aladdin, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, the Oscar-nominated remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, and the debut title of Mickey and the Minnie Mouse.
In terms of licensing deals, Disney Interactive has the most access to Nintendo and one of its strongest relationships with third-party publishers; Disney licensed Star Wars games, including Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer and Star Wars: Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones, have had an impact on Disney's bottom line.
"Disney Interactive Studios has proven itself to be one of the premier European-based companies and has had an enormous influence on the whole entertainment industry. We have a strong development and marketing partnership to develop great games for these titles and that will continue to lead to great games."
In terms of the company's upcoming projects, Disney's COO Bob Iger said, "With the company's R&D efforts, we've already announced a blockbuster title that is to expand the way Disney games are enjoyed by many consumers."
"The key to the success of Disney Interactive Studios is that they provide their IP to our consumers, and we are offering more opportunities than ever to continue to broaden our reach and reach the potential of our broadening library of games across various platforms.
"In addition to Disney Interactive Studios, we are actively working on titles that will appeal to all ages and forms of gamers and platforms."
An animated re-make of R&D's classic gaming series The Magic Made Fun will be coming to DS, Wii and PC, alongside the WiiWare title Fantasy Racing League. It will also feature an all-new story-driven campaign, and the game is already a phenomenon.
While Disney is still "in the process of building up the brand of the brands and franchises that will be featured in Disney Interactive Studios," it hopes to release both titles within the first quarter of 2010.
"We have invested in licensing and creating original content for Disney Interactive Studios, and we hope to release some new movies for our games in the first quarter of 2010," said Disney Interactive Studios boss Alan Horn. "These will be key elements that will ensure our games become a major force on our marketplace."
Like most entertainment industries, Disney has already licensed more than 200 films and TV shows, though the initial choice for any film will be based on the games, which were already sold through Disney Interactive Studios.
Abe was also the executive vice president of Disney Interactive Studios, making movies and TV shows for movies, TV, and television. He was also responsible for the release of a number of children's cartoons for Disney Interactive Studios.
Sophia Valenzuelouov, Disney Interactive Studios director of interactive entertainment, told the BBC: "I have been working on our interactive games for some time now, and we have some very innovative things that we're working on. We are starting to develop the Disney-IP software in two weeks. We're going to release a number of products in this form. Disney Interactive Studios is the largest in Europe. It's a great development company."
The first title released by Disney Interactive Studios is Finding Nemo, a new adventure game that sees players chasing down Nemo. Players will have to find all the hidden characters and solve the mysterious mysteries that lie within the jungle, as well as various secrets to discover. The game will be playable for the first time on the Game Boy Advance.
In Europe, Electronic Arts will release the TOCA Race Driver Advance, a game that combines the tactical and racing gameplay of the original TOCA Race Driver with the cars and tracks from the movie.
