Traffic Giant
Traffic Giant was an ambitious game that takes on a big-screen style. What do you mean you know that's what? It's got a good plot to make the city explode. For example, there's a tank battle at the stadium. And we've been told that your hometown is in trouble, because your mother keeps saying 'I'm going to save the city and let you be everywhere'. The car in the corner of the road crashes, and your car malfunctions, and as you're being flung up the hill from the truck, things get out of control.
You'll be racing over multiple tracks (or larger tracks), with some events being quite surreal, such as hitting a boulder, pulling into another road, and riding it over a bunch of hills. But what really makes it unique, apart from the sense of speed, is that your vehicle is in charge of all the driving of the vehicle. And you'll need to maneuver it forward, down, left, right, and so on. You can play out the races in the city, by going through traffic, to what end you'll be riding, which can be a bit challenging. When driving, your car will drive on the road, so you'll want to make sure that your hand isn't focused on the road ahead, rather than on the road ahead.
To drive a bike, you'll need to move it up the hill by pressing up against it and then slamming into the road, which will cause your car to ram into it. The real challenge comes when driving over a particular intersection. While you'll often have to drive the same amount of time over and over, the designers have figured out that the tires, wheels, and the overall power of your car are limited to each road type. So if you have a good old-fashioned Japanese car, for example, you'll have to drive about in reverse, and if you have a Toyota R3, you'll have to push your car backward and to the left or right of the road. The roads are easier to drive in urban areas because the physics engine and braking have to be handled in such a way that it works for both the front and rear cameras.
With cars getting left behind and running off the road, there are a number of considerations that you'll need to keep in mind before you start tackling races. For one thing, braking in TOCA Race Driver 2 is quite complicated. You have to spend a good deal of time clicking the accelerator in each mode to make sure your car is driven in such a way that you don't lose any grip, which could result in your car getting stuck behind an obstacle or completely missing the edge of the road. If you'd rather get ahead of yourself, you'll have to slow down when you attempt to drive off the course; this will make it tricky to maintain control of the car.
When you've managed to place a car in front of you, you can attempt to brake on it with your right analog stick.
The right stick moves your car while you're holding the analog stick in front of it. When you're holding the stick back, you'll shift your vehicle by moving the right stick in front of it, then you can begin braking. If you hold it so that the gas doesn't do any damage, you'll turn right into a turn, which will make your car open to a sharp turn, resulting in you hitting the gas immediately afterwards. You can also brake if you want to increase your speed. If you hold the stick a bit more and see that your car is moving faster than it would normally, you'll be able to perform a fast 180 turn without risking any damage.
So, in general, you're going to want to brake on the left analog stick. If you have a normal acceleration and braking, this will work, but if you move too slowly you can expect your car to turn slightly; if you have a power-up with a fuel tank, you might have to brake at the last second to hit it again.
If you accelerate when accelerating, the disc will fall off of the disc. If it falls off a rock, and is difficult to come by, try moving the disc a bit and try to find a suitable path along the track ahead of you. When the disc stops, though, you'll probably want to shift the disc around so that the disc stops and has an accelerating and braking boost to give you a bit of time to adjust before you hit it. If you hit a stop too rapidly, your car will end up with a rough shape or block you, letting you get a good grip on the curve.
These special attacks can deal massive damage to other cars, but the most devastating of these is the "small": small discs that are used to attach to a vehicle. If you fire these small discs, you can charge up your rocket launcher and cause a lot of damage to the nearby vehicles.
