Tom Yum Goong
Tom Yum Goong's long awaited Dark reboot finally has an official release date: Friday, April 30.
The film stars Christopher McQuarrie, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Affleck, Joe Manganiello, and Zoe Saldana and looks to bring the many characters from The Dark Knight into the third world of cinema.
But is this version of The Dark Knight the one that even appeals to the masses? There are no news on that. But is there anything else you'd like to know?
Fascinatingly, the screenwriter who brought our films to life is now on board to write and direct the script.
"With Bruce Wayne’s parents left to deal with their new life and Batman’s return, the creative team at Warner Bros. have crafted a completely new vision of the classic film. The story features an unexpected struggle that must be resolved in the most daring manner," said Jason Blum, President of Warner Bros.
“The results are not surprising, as this is a moving, emotionally resonant film, with no cuts or deviations. As the tale of the Bat will continue, and this adventure in the ‘universe’ begins, we are poised to achieve something that could only be achieved in the pages of the beloved comic book series, and deliver the same experience to the audience in a way that will no doubt captivate comic book fans worldwide.”
Despite the name, the film is not a direct adaptation of the series – and judging by Blum's recent comments, it might be. "It's a complete, fully-fledged, fun film with no cuts or deviations, and with that comes a never-before-seen cinematic experience," he said. "The action is the biggest, with a sense of comedy, drama, and character development, and with that comes a path to where we should be taking the story of Batman and the Arkhamverse."
So that's the premise, and that's it. Even with the information on the Bat, there is still a lengthy wait before the film is ready to show audiences what it's about – but fans won't need to wait long for more information on it.
The Batman is set to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
Ahead of the theatrical release, Warner Bros. released a new official trailer for the film. Check it out below:
Below, we'll explain everything we know about The Batman ahead of its October 1 release.
The first trailer for the movie landed at DC FanDome 2021. It stars Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader and is directed by Matt Reeves (The Batman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). It sees Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz (Watchmen, Cloverfield), and Colin Farrell (Gotham City), reprising their roles as Batman and Catwoman respectively.
Also in the trailer is an appearance by Jim Gordon (Tom Hardy), who previously appeared in an earlier trailer for The Batman, along with Alfred Pennyworth (Cameron Monaghan), Paul Dano (Riddler), and Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon).
One thing we know for certain is that Keaton's Batman will be a teenager. However, it's also been confirmed that Andy Serkis will return as Alfred, played by Andy Serkis. It's also been confirmed that Andy Serkis will reprise his role as the titular vigilante.
The final trailer for The Batman sees Ben Affleck return as Batman, while Matt Reeves returns as Batman, along with Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, as well as Paul Dano as the Riddler, played by Jeffrey Wright. The movie will also feature Catwoman, a character who is known for causing mischief and causing mayhem.
As for the new trailer, the sequel has fans wondering if The Batman will follow suit with Affleck's The Batman in some way. With Reeves saying the film will be set in Gotham, it makes sense that he will not be wearing his Batman cape, as was rumored. Instead, this would see Robert Pattinson get the opportunity to play the Riddler.
Finally, Batgirl is getting its official title, with director J.K. Simmons returning as Barbara Gordon. In a tweet, Simmons shared that she won't be wearing the Batgirl suit. However, the new trailer definitely suggests that the audience will get to see her once again.
In the previous trailer, it was also revealed that Wonder Woman is not Batgirl. The upcoming DC movie will feature another female superhero, who is played by Gal Gadot, who previously played Wonder Woman in The Flash. However, fans should be excited for what is to come.
Wonder Woman will be in her first solo film as the titular character, and it is highly likely that she will feature in the film.
