The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red has revealed that it will be showing a Witcher game for the PC at E3. The news was revealed by the company during a press conference on Wednesday, from 1 June, to 9 June.

"Since we launched the game in May 2001, our goal has been to create the most visually stunning action role-playing game yet," said CD Projekt Red president Marcin Iwinski. "This game is our biggest step forward since The Witcher."

This isn't the first time that CD Projekt Red has taken steps to improve its PC games, as one of the developers of The Witcher 1, Tomasz Baginski, spoke about the console versions of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

"We started working on the first game on PC before seeing the console version. We even started looking at the DLC and the new control scheme. We were fortunate enough to receive a few people who picked up the game and experienced the first PC version. We knew we were going to be able to make a PC game, but we didn't really know what the quality of the console game would be before we saw the console versions."

The Witcher

But is The Witcher 2 still coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, or is it now locked down as a launch title?

"The only thing that we're currently in talks about is the possibility of a launch for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, but there's no concrete date yet."

Gamers who picked up The Witcher 2 for the PC will remember the fact that the sequel is no longer exclusive to the PC. "The PC version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was originally slated to launch the year after the PC release, but that was later changed," an Xbox representative told GameSpot.

"So right now we're working very closely with all the parties at CD Projekt Red to make sure that our fans get the best version of The Witcher 2 available."
