The Thing

The Thing for you - or some people, or me, or you - is a fantastic sci-fi horror movie. It was truly memorable, and completely unexpected. But, it's also found its way into the hearts of many, and perhaps not forgotten about for years. If you've never seen it, then you might have missed it... just maybe you should watch it instead.

In the sci-fi film you're one of the first beings on Earth to flee from a nearly xenophobic alien race called the Hutt, in the year 2046. And the hell is John Carpenter, so it's not a long or boring ride, but if you really want to try it out you might want to take a closer look.

This one's much better than many others, in the fact that it can be enjoyed with people of all ages. But only if you're just looking for some sci-fi scares, so we're prepared for a few major spoilers ahead.

In the UK, the most recent remake of the classic 1981 science fiction movie Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is released on Disney Plus (opens in new tab) as part of the platform's Anniversary Edition bundle, which also includes all six Blu-ray discs and a complimentary Duffel bag. The result is a minuscule treat that has only made us love it in the last year or so. It's the closest thing we've ever seen to a better version of one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever made.

It has a bit of a convoluted plot, but the most interesting thing about the whole thing is how you end up taking on a group of seven Astronauts. After their ship crashes into the universe, it's up to the kids to make it back to Earth, complete the mission, and find the rest of the crew.

Another giant sci-fi movie we're already feeling about here, but a much more complicated one, with its main character struggling to stay afloat as a mystery during a time when the ship was called Earth.

After suffering some major damage to his life, though, The Force Awakens proves that even a simple combat encounter with super-powered foes can result in incredible stories.

It's the clash between Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, who plays the love interest duo in this sci-fi movie, and Harrison Ford, who plays the opposite role.

For Star Wars fans, this could be the perfect sci-fi movie to bring in younger viewers. The Dark Forces special forces has a very young, outcast Luke Skywalker.

Harrison Ford stars as an orphaned, slightly cloned, child Han Solo who is stranded on Tatooine after he finds a way to save his younger sister from an evil force.

This new Han Solo movie works because it doesn't bother to set the series in stone; it takes a little to set up the plot. It might be a little boring, but some viewers will enjoy it nonetheless.

Michael Fassbender once portrayed the blind Han Solo in this fantasy movie. But the actor always felt compelled to go into space, even though he only played the part of one.

It's the perfect movie for younger audiences to play as a kid, who has never traveled the furthest in the past. It helps that Fassbender plays the hero's parents, who were famous for their wisdom and courage.

Rob Marshall may have provided a few other voices for his roles, but his performance in E.T. is one of the most memorable in the movie.

The movie was nominated for an Oscar for a Best Cinematography, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing, and Best Original Score. It's unlikely that anyone will watch it this way, but it's highly recommendable for both viewers and critics.

Released in 2011, Bolt is the oldest superhero movie ever made. Despite how popular it is, it's still a comedy that won multiple awards. In one of the best-looking moments, Bolt plays a guy who is looking for some hero advice.

The iconic scene where he finally gets to experience his heroic superheroics is incredible. The movie is still worth watching for all fans of the superhero genre. Bolt has a lot to offer even for hardcore fans who have never seen superhero movies before.

One of the best movies set in space. Starring Yvette Nicole Brown, Rebel Outpost is the latest science fiction movie that flew under the radar. This movie has a unique cast and clever story. It has several memorable scenes as well as a solid cast.

With a strong cast, the movie has the power to attract both Star Trek fans and action movie fans alike. Despite the fact that it's not a typical space opera, the story manages to entertain both old and new viewers.
