The Spiderwick Chronicles
The Spiderwick Chronicles are due out in North America on September 2nd, and are promising plenty of platform action, a cutscene-based co-op mode and a healthy dose of spellcasting, sarcasm and symbiote genocide. In the present day you'll take control of a Black Spider-Man on the run from the same enemy (the One Who Waits) from across the Marvel Universe, with his vast arsenal of attacks and unique abilities. There's a lot of action and bloodshed, and Spiderwick Chronicles is shaping up to be a great place to play Spiderwick Chronicles.
In this X-Men Adventure we'll see some of the fan-favorite Spider-Man villains, as well as several licensed ones including Sinister Six, Captain America, Electro, Vulture, Sandman and Spider-Gwen. Spider-Man's style is undoubtedly different from his previous incarnations, but the game looks quite sharp. The game is running in 60 frames per second, with a solid frame rate. The fight sequences take place in a top-down view that's still a bit rough around the edges. The battle sequences are looking good, although they're not quite as fluid as we'd like. The character models are solid and feature some great-looking animation. We got to see some fine-looking powers, such as the web-slinging web to swing around. Spider-Man has a few new abilities in the game, which definitely go a long way toward letting players get a feel for his powers. The controls have been tweaked, and you'll be able to use your webs to move around the environment a bit. However, you'll find a solid control scheme that suits the experience.

The PC graphics engine manages to run well, with clean textures and fine detail. The game's performance overall holds up fairly well, although the same could be said of the Xbox version. The frame rate is still a bit rough, which we're pleased by. The audio is still coming together and is to be very good. You'll find the game's assorted voice clips and tunes that will be familiar to you. The core mechanics in the game are a mix of old and new. The basic structure lets you work through a modest collection of missions that offer a sampling of assorted assorted objectives you'll engage in.
