The Moon Project

news 87 0

The Moon Project is an unusual game to be released by FromSoftware, the publisher of the popular Armored Core series. Players will find themselves stuck on the moon in the mysterious loneliness of the moon. The game has you navigating between two complex stages of playing time to recover lost memories. You will have the choice of traveling through your spaceship or going through the current stages of play. Your trip will take you into the game's mysterious winged toaster world and filled with beautiful visual effects and lush environments.

There are two aspects to the Moon Project--your character, a humanoid explorer, and your destiny. The Moon Project has a story that is inspired by Eileen Merchant's novels and is as action-packed and heavy-hitting as you may expect from FromSoftware's RPG lineage. Your goal is to find and save the eggs from the vile Dr. Coyle's plague.

The Moon Project is currently scheduled to ship on September 17 for the PC. A US release date has not yet been confirmed.

The first place we'll think about when we hear more about the role-playing game from FromSoftware will be The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. For those of you who don't know, this is a two-part story that takes place between The Witcher 2 and The Witcher. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will allow you to step into the role of a male character who is a sorceress, and you'll be able to choose from four different non-player characters as you make your way through the game's six regions.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be playable at E3 this year.

E3 2010, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is back, and it will be up to you to keep track of all the big news coming out of the show. Microsoft will be on hand at E3, and the conference is set to take place from June 11 to 12, giving you just a couple of days to get your fill of news, videos, and game news. Microsoft is also hosting a "Indie Games Showcase," which will be focused on indie titles. The indie game festival kicks off at 9 a.m. PDT on June 11, with a special show called the Electronic Entertainment Expo--which runs June 13-15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. During the event, Microsoft will be showcasing more than 15 indie titles. These include EA's own Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Heavy Rain, Grand Theft Auto IV and Forza Motorsport 4 and Halo Wars will be on display. On the bright side, Microsoft will have a demo of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and Star Wars: Battlefront on display.

Microsoft is kicking off the ID@Xbox program with a digital-only ID@Xbox program, which includes free Xbox Live Gold games. Microsoft is also touting the promotion as a way to encourage independent developers to create Xbox Live-like titles, and support titles with Xbox Live Arcade. The program also ties into Xbox Live's Game Marketplace service, which recently made waves on Steam, bringing thousands of independent titles to the service.

However, the Xbox 360 is not without its games. According to a statement from Microsoft on its official Xbox site, the company has been "quietly" working on some games, including Crysis Warhead, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, and Panzer Dragoon Orta. The company has also recently started developing an Xbox 360 game, titled Project Gotham Racing 3, which was shown at E3. The original Xbox was released in 2001, so the ID@Xbox program makes sense.

The next-generation Xbox is set to hit stores in November, but, curiously, it's also unclear whether Microsoft will be pushing the platform to the PlayStation 3 or the Nintendo Wii. However, the firm did say that it would be "consistent" with its plans to support the Xbox 360, and that Xbox Live will "play host to some of the best online titles on the console." However, in an interview with Shacknews, Microsoft confirmed that the game was still in development, and that Xbox Live will still be used for the Live service.

Looking further ahead, ID@Xbox chief John Schappert announced that The Next Generation Project, which is a compilation of programming, software, and hardware enhancements, will be released on the PC in the fall. On the consoles, ID@Xbox will support the DirectX 8 version of Xbox Live, along with the second-generation version of the Xbox Live service.

Another Microsoft representative confirmed the company's commitment to the Xbox 360, saying, "We're still working on the next generation version of the Xbox Live service. We're aiming to make it as easy as possible for console gamers to connect to Xbox Live."

ID@Xbox will launch in the fall, and both consoles will be able to connect to Xbox Live.
