The King of Fighters 99 Evolution ENGLISH
The King of Fighters 99 Evolution *ENGLISH* is the latest and greatest entry in SNK's long-running fighting series, and includes every stage in the first two instalments, and more. In it, you can take your favourite characters and put them to battle in 1-on-1 matches to see who's the strongest.
It's also a game I've had my eye on for a long time now - a long-running Neo Geo fighter released way back in 1994 and it's quickly become one of my favourite fighting games of all time. It's still just as solid today as it was 20 years ago, and if you've not played the full game then I'd recommend that you check out this review.
Not only that, but you'll be able to play it in 2D mode, but the mode which was featured in the Super Nintendo original is also playable on the Nintendo Switch, too. There are three modes to choose from here: a standard-style arcade mode with eight characters to choose from (the latter of which is brand new to this version), a Time Attack mode, and a 3-on-3 tournament mode. There are ten different characters to choose from, so there's plenty of replay value.
Like most of the ACA Neo Geo titles, it's supported by online multiplayer for those that want to take it for a spin. There's even a VS mode to support up to four players in a head-to-head battle that's ideal for those that want to play with their friends locally or online.
This entry was released on the Wii U eShop in 2015 as part of a range of bundles. It's a colourful and visually appealing title, so there's a good chance that you'll be picking it up with some DLC for a reasonable price. In addition to this there are a few additional features, including additional character slots, outfits and profile pictures. It also comes with the Online Battle mode, allowing players to battle their friends locally or with friends online.
Released in 2016 as part of the Neo Geo Mini range, this is a portable version of the existing Neo Geo fighter. There's also a Story mode that's loosely based on the opening section of the arcade game; we weren't particularly impressed by this in our review.
There's a lot to like in this one, so we're going to focus on that title that'll make it into the top ten. This RPG is an interesting arrival on the eShop, as it uses the 3DS' processing power to allow players to explore lush landscapes and discover treasures while going through a narrative. The visuals and animations are beautiful, and this will surely appeal to fans of SNES RPG experiences.
This game has been around for a few years on the Wii U eShop, and now the sequel is here as part of the collection. A player's journey to the afterlife is similar to the original, with a surprising number of secrets and puzzles to discover. It's an excellent point-and-click adventure game with a fun plot and charming cast of characters, and we thought this was a smart and enjoyable experience in our review.
Next up we have Dig Dug (CIRCLE Entertainment, €5.00 / £4.50) - It's a retro-style arcade game that tasks players with rescuing a Dig Dug from a 'evil factory'. The gameplay is simple, but we gave this a glowing recommendation in our Dig Dug review.
Nano Assault Neo (Shin'en Multimedia, €5.00 / £4.50) - An arcade shooter, in which you blast away at various enemies to increase your score; it's fairly standard fare with some new twists, so we'll get blasting for a review.
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention (NIS America, free)
Trine 2: Director's Cut (Frozenbyte, €5.00 / £4.50 until 29th September, normally €13.99 / £12.59)

European Conqueror 3D (CIRCLE Entertainment, €3.99 / £3.59 until 22nd September, normally €5.99 / £5.39)
