The Incredible Hulk 2008

The Incredible Hulk 2008 has only just come out and, most importantly, the videogame based on the Marvel Comics characters. In fact, the title has already been announced to coincide with the film's premiere this June in the UK.

The Incredible Hulk has been in development for some time, but it's never been officially announced by Marvel Entertainment. The developers have stated that it's not a GameCube exclusive.

On the other hand, it's also been confirmed that the game will be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The press release states: "It's a continuation of the Incredible Hulk team's interactive adaptation of the Incredible Hulk, which began with 2004's Incredible Hulk on the PlayStation 2, in which players get to take control of the Incredible Hulk and fight the newly announced Hulk, with the assistance of his super-charged signature, the Omega Scepter."

This is an interesting time for the videogame adaptation of The Incredible Hulk. Late last year, Activision released the video game of the same name, which sold roughly 2 million units worldwide. So, when was the next time that the team would be involved with a video game adaptation?

"The people who worked on the Incredible Hulk have been working on a game for nearly a decade," read the announcement, "that's why we're excited to announce the development of The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360."

This game follows the Incredible Hulk as he travels around the world trying to clean up the streets of a suburban suburb, which is now infested with other enemies and minions. But what's he up to? "His newfound nemesis will do anything he can to save humanity, especially as he goes around the world searching for his very own Hulk," Activision teased. "The whole team is so incredibly excited to be working with Activision on this incredible game."

In addition to some new screenshots (above), Activision also confirmed the release date for the game, which is set for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii on October 6.

Activision also revealed today that its own character based on Robert Downey Jr.'s character, Tony Stark, will be featured in the game, as will Jim Rhodes, who plays "major roles" in the game.

In addition to the new screens, Activision also detailed the Collector's Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops. The collector's edition will include a 25-inch M590 R2-D2 HDTV, a weapon blueprints pack, an in-game emblem, a "DVD drive" and a Black Ops strategy guide. It will cost $250.

Former Bungie composer Marty O'Donnell revealed that after a nearly 10-year dormancy, he'd been working on an album for the original Halo trilogy. Called "Shatter," the album will be published under his album 'Hopping Crazy' by The Electric Silence.

Also revealed is the top five songs on the album. The first is 'On the Edge,' with O'Donnell playing a sound sample. The second is 'Paramount Six', with the rest of the track being recreated by the same artist.

The two remaining songs are "Binding Light," with the track "Enslaved Shines and Sandwiches," and 'In the Wall,' with "Bleeding Lights."

It's a good day for games, as last week it was revealed that Portal 2's soundtrack will be composed by Scott Guthrie. The full track listing can be found on O'Donnell's website.

The first day of Rock Band 4's release last week was the biggest day of the show. We also learned that Harmonix has released 15 tracks for the game, bringing the total number of songs available to players up to six.

Our own review of the game was up and running earlier this week, with our reviewer praising the track "Hot Seat and Life on the Shore" and commenting, "That's it for Rock Band 4."

It seems that the rhythm game genre in general is seeing a shift, with Rock Band 4 marking the first time a major release has been released this year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Although we weren't able to play the game ourselves at the time of writing, Harmonix and Sony Computer Entertainment did reveal that Rock Band 4 will feature a song creator tool that will allow players to create their own custom character tracks.

Harmonix's Mike Fischer provided some insight into why Rock Band 4 will launch at a similar time, and the developer didn't want the game to take longer to get there. "If we think we're going to have to take longer to get there, we would be more careful not to overwhelm you with too much content," Fischer said. "You're going to have a better sense of how Harmonix has designed the game.
