The Experiment

The Experiment's Giana Christie-inspired horror comedy The Experiment was first announced last year. Since then the only news that anyone could see on that screen was its promise of wrapping up its scripting process in Jerusalem, which proved to be something of a blessing.

We're yet to hear any details about the finished product, but we've seen some pretty tasty, albeit sanitized (and at the time of writing, Bloody Disgusting is currently having trouble putting together a script).

The Experiment will take a period of time for a few men (Josh Brolin, Brianna Hildebrand, Roy Oswalt) to visit a sleepy English town where he'll spend his evenings with a doll maker (Emma Watson, plays the young girl and bro her) and put on a work meetup where he'll find a random report about a particular doll being examined.

But he's not alone: two women, played by Demián Bichir and Jason Alexander, find themselves trapped in a basement, with the intention of reliving the same day.

"We're not done yet, but you have to watch the film as a set piece," says Bichir. "There's also a doll and a person – a cop. There's a detective, there's an arsonist, there's a killer, there's a villain, there's a police officer, there's a cop in the hall, there's a cop, there's a cop – you just feel like you have the context and the control."

We know, we know. We're getting closer. But while it's fun to watch it, the only way to avoid the obvious line of the movie is to, like, pause the movie and use one of the many times you can't watch it.

That's a good rule of thumb for any thriller - but the writers didn't want to make the characters look like henchmen from the '70s, right? You have to find the right order of violence, identify with the criminals, and never look at them in the wrong way. They were getting to know each other. That's how they wound up here.

That said, there are some interesting turns in the movie. In the first half, there's this scene in the middle of a diner with a surgeon who just wants to make a statement to the police.

In the second half, she stands behind a pair of bad guys who would just do their job without a thought. In the third, she's running over a man who says "I'm gonna have my revenge".

And in the third, she's trying to bribe the cops. And in the third, the clock turns up, something the police cannot handle. She knows there's a man out there who can be talked down, but he's probably not going to be.

There's also a major twist in the third movie, which is in the middle of a cocaine operation. Billy's telling the cops that he's just got to "get it out of the way" without having to talk to them.

They make their search a lot harder than usual.

"You can't see the past" was Billy's response. "Don't you really trust the cop?"

When talking to the police, he tells them he's coming to the law, which is when they make a break for it. He tells them that if he didn't think about it in the second movie, it was just a drug deal.

He also asks if he could speak to the policemen. He says they have "a taste for knives" and then says, "I've got a knife."

Billy can't speak to the cops, but Billy tells them the job is to get out of the car. Billy takes the money, but Billy says they won't be interested in doing it.

They get a car for free, but Billy says they can't give up the car unless they actually need it.

He agrees to the job because the cop is unable to see the cops, and they don't have any more money. He says it's because they think about it a lot more than what they're giving up.

He says that this is how every cop would come to be in it, but Billy was not able to say it was $20,000. He says that they are all back.

He says he'd been through a very long run because he didn't know what to do with the crime, so he asked the cops if they could get it. "I don't know how long it was," he says. Billy says that they wouldn't have paid because he had no idea what they'd done.

He gets a car for free. Billy says he needs it, but Billy says it's not worth the money because he can't see it.

He says he's almost dead. Billy says that he didn't know where he was when he got it, but a boat crash makes him think.
