The Bards Tale
The Bards Tale is a game of "opposites," which as the name suggests are in reference to The Bard's Tale. It's a brand new addition to the game, available for PC, PS2, and Xbox in early 2002. Bards is, in some senses, a fairy tale. It's a dark-and-fuzzy game of exploration, where your Bards are trying to survive by running, jumping, and exploring caves. Some puzzles are more interesting than others. Some may require you to turn the lights on or off, while others require you to flip the camera back and forth to see them.
In Bards Tale, you'll find out who is in charge of the town, the ancient Bards, and his people. You'll find yourself dealing with various problems as you venture across the world, looking for the people and treasures that you can use to increase your Bards' skills and powers. The game features two primary modes of play: single-player and multiplayer. The single-player game puts you in the role of a Bards general, and it gives you access to a huge number of troops, vehicles, and abilities that you'll have access to in the single-player game. The multiplayer game lets you choose from more than 300 different soldiers. You'll be able to play a two-player game with computer-controlled teammates.
In Bards Tale, you'll have to deal with multiple enemy bases and different types of military units, as well as enemy defenses. The first objective is to capture an important piece of the map, but once you've captured the key, you'll have to try to seize it by defending it. The game takes place on a map that's composed of a series of hills and valleys. You'll travel by horseback and park vehicles on the other end of the road, while avoiding enemy fire. While the game has a different look than the standard first-person-shooter games that are already available, this is definitely one of the more visually impressive first-person-shooter games on the market. You'll see everything from realistic fire, and there will be even a cool animation that shows your character's face moving about. It all looks very impressive, and it's possible to get a feel for the game's advanced artificial intelligence by learning how to handle your own weapons, vehicles, and characters.
The game's visuals engine is very advanced. You'll see lots of real-time shadows, which really give the game a different feel. You'll also notice that there are quite a few character models that are actually full-size, like a cowgirl who's grown up and is no longer a child. Additionally, there are some large rats in the game that we didn't see on our local video card. We found that most of the game's models had some very detailed textures and models, and they do look very impressive, especially in the middle of a firefight.
The game's sound effects also show off what you can expect from the game's sound design. The game's music will provide a very realistic and atmospheric soundscape that changes based on the situation. We're also happy to say that the game's voice was recorded by Masaya Nagoshi, whose previous credits include Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors. As a result, there are actually several different voices for the game's main characters.
In addition, a number of different sound effects have been recorded for the game. The music of a role-playing game is usually quite well done, and though there will be several different characters, there are some voices that are completely different from one another. However, you'll be able to choose your own music from a number of different sources. For instance, in the Resident Evil universe, the RE weapons were made of concrete materials, and the games' various musical cues are laid out by sound effects. Furthermore, the game will feature a wide variety of different styles and compositions that will make it easy to create your own style of play.
After playing through the game's demo, we have to say that Capcom has gone above and beyond the usual graphics standards with this game. The characters, environments, and action are all very detailed and smooth. All of the characters' faces and animations are well done and are articulated in various ways. All of the action is taken out in a realistic fashion, with solid animation and good voice acting that ties the game together. The use of a lock-on feature is also helpful in combat. Instead of being able to move around the battlefield and snap to any camera angle, you can now move your character around with the right analog stick.
Even better, the game features real-time lighting. Resident Evil 2 has many such voluminous effects that can be activated by the pause menu. This will enhance the realism in your fight sequences as you go about dispatching the enemies. The game's environment also features dynamic lighting effects that can be used to accentuate the lighting.
