Survivor The Interactive Game
Survivor The Interactive Game is set for a July 25 release, with a full press release promising a story written by comic book veterans David Ayer and Terry Pratchett.
“Now, with the involvement of the most respected comics writer in the world, we are taking a step closer to providing the gamers with a story that has been evocative and evocative for decades. The interactive narrative of Survivor will take the players deep into a survival game unlike any other. Players are drawn into the story by a deeply personal narrative that will also provide a sense of discovery, providing the closest to any video game ever produced”.
Ain’s ex-Epic writers David Ayer and Terry Pratchett will also deliver a story that “represents a real character”, as well as what will come next:
“The team at Stainless Steel Studios has created a character with rich character-driven drama that is unlike any other. Partly, it is a character that has been used more as a mechanism to connect and connect with the players,” said Dave Ayer.
“With Survivor, I’ve developed a vision of what players will experience as they play and explore the rich narrative of an independent space. I think there is something here that is compelling about us. ““
I’ve had a chance to play the game at a recent hands-on event and have had an immediate impression. I can safely say that I was very impressed with the game’s approach to narrative; with an “insanely” complex story.
After facing some doubts in regards to pacing, I was ready to provide an example. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from the actual story and, having been a veteran of the genre, it is a little hard to get a sense of how these elements mesh together.
“Once you finish playing, it becomes the start of a fuller story. I wanted to stress that it is not that much of a short experience; I felt there was so much of a branching narrative to the game. But, it was also quite interesting how it keeps players guessing and getting the narrative right. So, I think we executed it to a level where it works and gives players time to have their brains out, and to really get out of the way.
“And the way that it is told, you don’t need to have played the other two games to understand it. You need to have played the others because they are great! That is why we focus on it and that is the core of what you will have seen in the story.”
“We really wanted to bring it into what has been an exciting space in the FPS space, where it has not been the easiest title to really define. And I think it’s a great game to get into for players who love it. I think for players who like a good story and story, we were confident in giving them a good and easy game with plenty of replayability.
“And also for players who enjoy co-op. It really feels like we’ve created a very good story in the genre. It has never been easier to set up an experience like that.”
Crysis 3 will have a mission-based co-op, but it won’t have a mission-based co-op mode. “That’s something that we have always wanted to do. So, if you’re playing the campaign with your friends or in co-op you’re going to have to be ready to go with the missions. You’re going to be playing on your own mission, but there are no missions,” he said.
“We have a replayable co-op experience. We have missions where you can go through a whole level with your friends. There’s also all the mechanics you’d expect, like jumping from rooftop to rooftop. We’ve also got a leveling system, and we’re going to be introducing lots of different abilities and skill trees.”
He also confirmed that Crysis 3’s multiplayer will feature a large-scale community of mods, and the game will support several mods, whether they be through the Crysis 2 Network Test, Content Creator, Custom Campaign, or Warpath.
“Yeah, I don’t know if that’s just one mod, or maybe something like Unreal Tournament,” he said.
Crysis 3 is scheduled to release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this November. Stay tuned for more updates.
