Starcraft Brood War

Starcraft Brood War is Blizzard's new real-time strategy game for the PC and console platforms. Developed by Red Alert developer Blizzard Entertainment, Starcraft will be the first game in the real-time strategy genre to feature resource management, such as resource management, in addition to direct character development.

Starcraft's first playable faction is the Zerg, and the game will take place on one of six distinct continents, including North America, Russia, and Eastern Europe. The three races' individual units will be detailed throughout the game, including the Terran, Zerg, and Protoss. The game will include a "pre-beta" version of the Warcraft III engine, and Red Alert will be the first title released by Blizzard to have real-time strategy game support for both PC and console. The game is scheduled for release this summer.
