Siege Of Avalon Chapter 6
Siege Of Avalon Chapter 6 will be available at select retailers nationwide on April 14. The final chapter of the sequel, Siege Of Avalon, will be available in two versions: a standard, an online version and a hardcore version, which was released at the end of September.
The game will be a role-playing game in which a character has been given a choice, and a choice is all that's left. Players must battle their way through five different types of weapons: heavy, light, heavy, and magic. The game's interface and control scheme are inspired by Blizzard's Warcraft series. The interface is somewhat simplified, and has several options for game grouping, opening up doors, and fighting, all from a simple matter of pressing down on the controller's D pad. Multiplayer games will be split between the single-player adventure and the "endgame" mode, and the "endgame" mode will let players face the game's many challenge quests. As mentioned in our previous coverage, Siege Of Avalon will be available in the standard and multiplayer versions of the game. The original PC and console versions of the game were both rated "T" for Teen and "T" for Everyone.
The original vision of a high fantasy setting and compelling storyline was in place with Legends of Avalon, and many of its gameplay mechanics, such as magic-sensing, will have made it to the next-generation systems.
This system will allow a number of different functions to be implemented in the game, and it will be possible to select from a wide variety of powers, as well as "unlockable" ones. Once players are in their place, they can create a gameworld that is as deep and engaging as in the real-time strategy game.
GS: How will the game's balance be handled? Will you be able to simply ignore the game's resource-management systems?
SI: Siege of Avalon will still be easy to pick up. It is a game that will require players to build the most structures and armies, but this isn't the case. During combat, players will have to keep a little distance from each other, so battles will become very close. Units will take up one of the five special powers listed above.
GS: What sorts of skirmishes will Siege of Avalon feature? Will there be plenty of skirmish-style games?
SI: Siege of Avalon is a great chance to take on a huge number of scenarios. We've talked about the big four that we've been focusing on for the last few years, but now that we've gone into multiplayer, we've also started to focus on a bigger variety of skirmish games.
GS: Can you tell us about your strategy objectives for the game? What sort of armies will be in multiplayer? How many players will you be able to control?
SI: Players will be able to choose to lead a campaign. In multiplayer, players will choose to side with one of the civilizations. They will then be able to take control of the three factions in battle.
The gameplay will be focused on the strategic aspects of military and unit warfare, which we'll be doing in the game as well.
GS: What kind of faction will players fight against?
SI: The first faction we're introducing is the Aztecs, and they're the most epic military force to ever be introduced in a Total War game. As the Aztecs have a formidable front line, they can really flex their muscle and bring their battles into their own hands. The Aztecs are masters of not only military tactics, but can go toe-to-toe with units that excel in these areas.
The Aztecs have numerous features of advanced technology that will allow them to support troops into battle.
GS: The game will have an epic battles. Can you give us an idea of what these battles will look like?
SI: Aztecs battle in the Middle Ages. Historically, this was the ultimate battle between the Mid and Imperial forces. Each side will be pitted against one another in an epic battles between Aztecs and the Dragonlords. As with the epic battles in Total War: Shogun, the battles will happen across one of two sides--one with superior technology and the other with superior technology.
GS: We understand that the game's units will include a series of infantry units that will be distinct from the other. How will these units differ from one another? What sort of unit types will they vary from one side to the next?
SI: Players will have the ability to command a great variety of Aztecs, each with unique and distinctive abilities, which we hope will not be a mainstay in the Total War series. Additionally, this game will let you build dozens of unique units, from a light spearmen to a powerful grenadier. Each unit will have its own unique abilities, and they will all be different from one another.
