Shattered Suns

Shattered Suns, the sci-fi strategy game from Vivid Games, is now available in beta form. The beta test starts now, and interested gamers can sign up by checking out the game’s official website. In Shattered Suns, gamers take the role of the commander of a planet which was devastated by an asteroid. After an asteroid lands on Earth, the Earth is attacked by the ruthless alien race known as the Great Great Darkness, and the Earth’s military is sent to recover the humans’ civilization.

Shattered Suns’ multiplayer features include fast-paced, arcade-style combat, online support for up to eight players, and an all-new story campaign. The game uses the Unreal Engine 3, and the team behind the game is working with the company’s “A.I.”, aka Alan Boenisch, who used to be an industry veteran with Ubisoft and Nintendo, who was involved in developing games like Splinter Cell: Conviction. Shattered Suns also has a new online co-op mode, which will give gamers the chance to experience a “story mode” that gives them the chance to change the gameplay and online play to their liking.

With its unique art style and gameplay mechanics, the game takes place on a derelict space station with enemy security attempting to overtake the station. Set during the Cold War, the game also features a unique storyline that follows the crew of the A.I. including Captain Malcolm McDowell and his crew as they go into battle against an all-powerful alien monster called a “volatile, mutating plant monster.”

Next up, the developers at Gameloft have announced that their next game, the Kingdom Rush mobile game, will feature fully-voiced character likenesses. Much like a typical Kingdom Rush game, players will need to play through a series of challenges that challenge the leader to defeat a plethora of different monsters.
