Sail Simulator 4
Sail Simulator 4 has been given a major update today. First things first: Rail Sim 4 is fully loaded, with dozens of missions to complete. Every now and again, the game will pit you against numerous competitors from around the world. All the things that Train Simulator (2004) did, minus a few DLC goodies, have been ported over, and this latest addition brings a lot more. If you want to practice your delivery, you can't simply take advantage of any of the new features: the enhanced driving engine, the expansion features a new graphical engine, and a new design team.
You can now learn about your best missions by browsing the new tutorials. You'll also have a new training area in the game, new pieces of equipment, and a whole host of other enhancements. Sail Simulator 4 also has an online multiplayer mode, which we'll talk more about shortly. As with all updates to Rail Simulator, Sail Simulator 4 is fully loaded with new and exciting features. There are so many to choose from that it takes a little work to decide what to read, but we have a handy guide on how to install the game on your computer.
Sail Simulator 4: Evolution
Theme Park, The Complete Experience
Theme Park, like any theme park, features a huge variety of rides, and that's going to change with the expansion pack. You'll need a track park from scratch for the expansion pack, and after you've got the parks you want, you can populate them with your best friends and download them and play them. Once you've linked your track to your account, you can take the tracks that you created with you to your friends' parks online and play them locally.
We played a good number of the game modes during the beta testing, and while they all seemed a little overwhelming at first, it's only after you learn how to play that that it becomes second nature to be able to appreciate just how amazing the game's visual presentation is. The really impressive thing about Theme Park is the way that you can change your theme whenever you want. Simply by pressing the X button, you can change the theme on the fly. Our favorite feature was to change the theme's name, which made it sound like it was on a different song. We didn't want to just mess with the same song, but we wanted to give our customers the ability to actually hear it on their favourite tracks and customize their sound for each one as well.
You can also customize the look of your park by adding and changing various decorations, such as the classic grayscale booth or the colored monkey bars. If you're happy to take your theme to the next level and change it all up, you can also change the color of the coaster's logo to match that of the theme. In addition to that, there's a whole new custom coaster editor that lets you design your own themed coaster. The new editor lets you create your own rides and buildings, which is a great feature for fans. You can even take your rides into battle against other players online.
GS: How will the game's single-player mode differ from that of the other Evolution games? Will it still be able to do traditional arcade-style events like cycling, pulling off tricks, and winning races? Will you be able to play multiplayer matches against friends and strangers online? How will multiplayer progress?
CC: We have always focused on making the game experience as immersive as possible. With the way the game is designed, we're really focusing on a kind of social experience that has never been done before. You'll be able to chat with your friends and hop in and out of a game, just like you would in the real world. It's a great feature that's very exciting, and I'm really excited to see where it goes in the future. We'll let players compete against each other in tournaments, and for some people, we can't wait to share with them what the final results will look like.
GS: Will there be any type of exhibition mode in the game? Will players be able to compete in some of the other Evolution games?
CC: We really haven't decided yet, but the game will have a number of online modes that you can participate in. There are six major championship games, and there are five different championships. If you're in the world of tournament play, it's easy to get lost. I mean, it's kind of like a million miles from the real thing.
GS: There is one major rival competition in this game that I don't want to talk about yet.
CC: Yeah, it's probably a one-on-one battle in every way, from my strategy and racing career mode, to the really violent and brutal back and forth with the competitors.
GS: I'm excited to see the arenas in these tournaments, but how does this affect the other EA Sports games?
