Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 4 may not be the biggest title in Capcom's history, but it's still arguably the most beloved in its genre, thanks in large part to its incredibly interesting story and varied gameplay. It's a game that defies convention, which is no surprise, as the scope of it makes it one of the most impressive games we've seen in a while. It certainly provides a very compelling experience that most horror games of all time do not.
The game features an epic story full of twists and turns, twists, and horrors. The game offers a range of difficulty settings, from Rookie to Hard, with the only difficulty setting setting being the one that has the least amount of life in the world. There's also a two-player mode, but we couldn't find it to be too difficult at first, which really picks up the pace as you progress through the game.
We played through the first two portions of the game, which were to be quite simple, with only one zombie to deal with. Zombies aren't as intelligent as they are in most other horror games, but when you get one close to the start of the game, it becomes fairly obvious that the enemies are more intelligent than any of the victims we've encountered so far. We only encountered one of these monsters, and the next, a floating octopus creature that hovered above our heads and controlled quite convincingly.
It would be a mistake to take the game in an arcade mode, as the arcade mode is quite literally designed for the control scheme. There's a lot of room for error, as zombies will merely stare at your TV screen, and if you stand still for too long, you'll get ripped to shreds as if you were looking at an episode of the TV show, which unfortunately didn't offer much in the way of challenge. We were also able to make use of the new super-jump power-up to grab an object, and then use it to move forward, down, left, right, up, down, left, right, up, left, right, down, up, down, up, down, down, up, up, up, down, down, left, down, up, left, down, down, up, up, up, down, down, left, down, down, up, up, down, up, down, up, down, down, up, down, down, up, up, down, up, left, down, down, right, up, up, down, up, up, up, up, down, down, up, up, down, down, up, down, left, down, down, right, up, down, down, up, down, left, down, up, up, up, up, up, up, down, up, up, down, down, down, up, down, down, up, up, down, down, up, down, up, left, down, down, down, down, down, up, down, down, down, down, up, up, down, down, up, up, up, up, up, down, down, up, down, down, down, down, down. The uppermost wall you should be looking for is in the uppermost alley, which is set high up in a ditch and near a power plant. The holes in the floor are somewhat slimy, so you might want to try and aim for the uppermost side of the street, then wait for the roof to line up behind you.
After making your way up, you'll come to a grating that is surrounded by some tough, gold-tinted soldiers, which you can take out with a rocket. You'll probably want to start a little area to flank them, while saving your energy for your next checkpoint. After killing them all, get the heck out of the way and start dropping the rocks into the grasses of the other soldiers. You can get some pretty messy kills by killing them off with your melee attacks, but they're most likely to be quite vulnerable to attack, so you can use your grapple to dash past them.
After the fourth checkpoint, you'll come to a shop that's set up in the corner of the street. Although the bad guys are snipers, they won't be able to hit you unless you call in an airstrike, so they're more of a nuisance than anything else. If you're interested in killing the stragglers, then return to the shop, which will exchange you with Sasha and give you a variety of weapons, including some blasters, miniguns, and such.
After a bit more building up, you'll come to a long tunnel in the background that leads to the last boss battle. Be sure to use your grappling hook to avoid the firefight, and be sure to bring the plentiful health that you have up for when you hit the final target.
