Rayman M
Rayman M has been confirmed for release on the Xbox (360), PC, PlayStation 3, and Wii, and Nintendo is pretty happy about it.
"The game is being developed for a system by Ubisoft that is not yet available to the public," said Rayman president Laurent Detoc. "It's intended to be playable for players who prefer the Wii Remote and Wii Balance Board."
"We feel that having this game available for them is a good decision," Detoc added. "This game is great for families. And we are confident that fans of the Rayman series will find the whole experience extremely entertaining."
For the first time on any console, players will be able to explore a fully 3D environment in a side-scrolling platformer style.
Rayman M will be available this holiday season for the Xbox 360, Wii, and DS, and will allow gamers to use a real controller, which is specially designed to be used with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.
The Wii version of the game will feature motion control support.
Players will be able to enjoy motion control controls by touching the Wii Remote or Nunchuk to control the action. Detoc said the Wii game will offer numerous control options to players.
There are also six different types of magic, including fireballs, water bombs, fireballs, ice bombs, and gravity bombs.
Multiplayer will support up to eight players via wireless and, as of today, Wi-Fi Connection.
"The game is very innovative," Stéphane Stéphane said. "We are thrilled to be releasing the first screenshots of Rayman M and bring a high-flying style to players in addition to the franchise."
Rayman M will launch this holiday season for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii. It will be released on the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube. The game will be a launch title for the PS2.
Stéphane did not provide an exact release date or price point for Rayman M. But he did say the game will have new features such as additional challenges and other improvements to the game. Stéphane also said that Rayman M will have a four-player multiplayer mode.
Rayman M will be released in Europe for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii in August. The Xbox 360 and PS3 editions will follow.
The next game to arrive will be Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. The game is a sequel to Chinatown Wars, which is rated M for Mature and is based on the Grand Theft Auto series. The PSP game will feature stylized graphics and a more mature rating. In addition to this, the game will include a new character named Bo. The name is said to be derived from "Miao Ying"--a martial artist from the Bessatsu School of Law.
The next game to be released is another Mafia game. The game will be titled Mafia: Chowdown. The name, however, is said to be derived from "a double dose of violence." There will be several key changes to the game, including "new abilities," and a new "open-ended gameplay," in which the player can choose to either drive away from the law or stay as a bounty hunter.
The last game to arrive on the Xbox 360 will be the upcoming "Ultimate Games on Demand." The add-on will let users download four games at no extra charge. For the Xbox 360 version, the add-on will allow for 100 Games on Demand games. For the PC version, that means only one game.
At the Xbox 360 press conference, Ubisoft showed a cinematic trailer for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which was shown at the Leipzig Games Convention. The trailer begins with the young Prince running away from a woman holding a huge gun. As he looks down, he is heard choking a woman, yelling, "As a prince, I would like you to rip you apart."
Ubisoft says that the trailer was rendered in real time and has undergone a subtle lighting change. The video's effects are a little more pronounced in high-definition and show more detail, resulting in the player feeling more immersed in the action. The scene moves fast, and the same effect appears on the screen as the last time we saw it. In addition, the video's camera move slightly backward, but seems to be solid enough.
Ubisoft promises that it's adding 20 multiplayer maps as downloadable content in the future. These maps were shown in one of the single-player videos and were used for multiplayer, though we don't know how much more we can expect. What we do know is that the maps will be based on historical events and will come from locations outside of the world. They include an area in India called the Mark of the First Men, which is an intense war and feature some of the largest battlefields in North America.
