Puzzle Quest
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, a real-time strategy game, came out on December 5 for the PS2 and Xbox. A PlayStation 2 version is expected in the future. The PlayStation version has been in development since October of last year, and the PlayStation version has been in development since the start of the year.
Titled Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, the game is being developed by UK-based Xpec, the same studio that worked on the popular role-playing game Lord of the Rings Online. A fairly standard PC RPG, Puzzle Quest is a turn-based role-playing game in which you collect and equip objects to your character, such as health and items, and then battle with other players and monsters. In Challenge of the Warlords, you have to battle both male and female opponents in turn-based battles. You can have up to five party members at a time, and you can collect new items in each of your party members' equip screens, although it's not clear if this will also be possible in the PC version.
GameSpot's first look at the PlayStation 2 version of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords was just a taste of what to expect from the game's visuals and play. The version on display featured a sampling of the game's locations and characters, and we were able to check out the actual game's story and battles. However, the character models were a bit of a let-down. The early battles we saw were still on the small screens, but it didn't seem as though the action was taking place in a circular area. The early battles against human enemies were somewhat reminiscent of those in Mario RPGs. In fact, the character models had a decidedly less robust feel to them, which was a bit disappointing when it came to the fights against skeletons and other creatures.
Based on the presentation, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is shaping up to be a competent entry in the series, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's definitely not the only DS game with additional content in the works, as Namco is working on an X-Men game.
The audio in Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is coming together well. The game's audio will feature more than 30 tunes from artists who have previously worked on the titles like Ozzy Osbourne and Bad Religion. The game will feature a mix of character voices from the likes of Aeon and Harry Lloyd, as well as live performance by renowned musicians like Johnny Cash and The Iron Giant. The game will also feature a good amount of music from the sound of classic rock songs. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords will feature a variety of tunes to complement the story and game. The music in the game will include both traditional orchestral arrangements and innovative video sequences that will allow you to interact with and interact with the game's environments. You'll be able to turn off the music and play a bit of ambient music in the game, and the game will incorporate musical elements that you can control with your mouse.
