PIEGE, an event celebrating 60 year-old British gamers and publishers who over the past decade have faced record high levels of success. The annual awards show will once again be held in London on September 9 and September 12. The event will feature over 120 unique, in-depth profiles of the lucky European gamers and developers, and will also be held at the Microsoft and Sony events.

"The UK games industry is incredibly vibrant and diverse, with a rich library of highly rated and highly interactive games," said Douglas Lowenstein, managing director of UKIE. "As the generation of gamers grows, more and more people look to their console, PCs, or laptops as a portable means of playing games. This year's GDCA is full of landmark titles, including so many from the top developers of console games such as God of War, ICO, Heavenly Sword, Tomb Raider, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and many more."

Gamescom 2009 will begin on October 14th, and we'll be bringing you hands-on time with all the hottest announcements of the show.

"It is almost upon us to announce that we will be the second UK games industry trade show, with the industry trade association recognizing this year's achievement as one of the biggest ever," said Sam Barlow, managing director, industry body of business development at major UK games publishers.
