Penumbra Black Plague and Requiem, the sequel to the critically acclaimed first-person horror shooter, now has an official title: Penumbra Black Plague.

Penumbra Black Plague takes place a decade after the events of the first Penumbra, and sees an aging, poisoned army looking to invade the world. Penumbra Black Plague returns to war-torn Penumbra in the sequel, and the developers behind the original hope to stay true to the spirit of Penumbra.

The new game will support both local and online multiplayer, and brings a new narrative with the same pace. Penumbra Black Plague will also feature new levels and an “iconic new cast” of characters, including Abigail Salazar, a “child of an artist from Sweden,” and Jenny Morris, a “hermit,” a “delinquent young beauty.”

Penumbra Black Plague and Penumbra Black Plague is set to launch on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 16.
