When you consider that the DS version is the second game in the series to be developed by D3, I still think that the game will look very similar to the previous titles.
Nobunaga no Yabou Kakushin Jikai Densetsu is in development by IGA Entertainment.
"I'm currently working with the company for the first time," said Nobunaga No Yabou, creator of the DS RPG Nobunaga no Yabou.
"The kind of pixelated, 3D polygonal graphics on the DS are the main attraction. The music is so much different than the main games, with a big focus on timing and frantic action."
Housing visualisations and a huge world are all aspects that are highlighted in the visuals, and as with the previous installments, each of the game's characters will have their own unique character moves, backgrounds and backstories.
According to Nobunaga no Yabou: Minna no Majin, the game will feature over 200 characters and around 100 levels.
Explaining the Wii U's graphical capabilities, Nobunaga no Yabou author and producer Keiji Inafune explained: "The graphical element is one of the key factors that has caused me to think about how to use it with the Wii U, and the Wii U is going to benefit greatly from the performance of the Nintendo console.
"One of the main selling points of the Wii U is the use of the GamePad as a control mechanism. It allows you to select from your favorite characters or just take a quick glance around the game world to observe them, but the GamePad can also be used to scroll through maps and interact with the environment.
"The GamePad can also be used to select from different landscapes or enemies to battle in different themed dungeons. Each dungeon is divided into different sections and they each have its own theme, the enemy, and what you encounter will affect the gameplay."
Some examples of the kinds of dungeons you'll encounter:
"At some point you might run into an enemy who is more of a nuisance to you than a threat. You can set a target to attack or make your way out of the dungeon to get some loot."
When the Wii U is released, all of Nintendo's marketing will be focused on its core gameplay. But at the same time, some demos and demos will be available.
Nintendo announced that Mario Party 10 and Wii Party U will be launching in North America on November 16, and in Europe on November 29.
No mention was made of a release in the West, but Iwata had this to say:
For Nintendo 3DS, the games were developed at the same time. The titles are only in the development stage, and have not been announced for Europe yet.
For Nintendo 2DS, we are focusing on the games that we developed at the same time. So, we will announce the title when it is released.
And for Wii, we are focusing on the titles that we have released at the same time.
Looking at what's happening right now in North America, Nintendo is surely betting big on the current handheld.
And its big plans are for the GamePad in the coming year. How about a launch in Europe with the Mario Party series?
No plans for a global launch in the future, but at this point we cannot speak to any future plans for the titles.
Iwata: How did you decide on bringing Mario Party DS to Europe?
No plans for a global release in the future, but at this point we can't share anything about it, we are developing it as an on-the-go title.
And then again, the role of the system for this business has shifted, so a lot of people are looking forward to it.
As for Mario Party on WiiWare?
Yes, so we are planning to release it for WiiWare on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
To date, only DSiWare has been made available for download on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. What we can say is that we can make it available for the Wii U in Europe at no extra cost.
What makes Mario Party DS unique is that it takes advantage of the 3DS's unique features in order to create a more dynamic game than it did on Wii. And Mario Party DS is a true adventure, so, once we've decided to release it for the Wii U, we can say that this is an exciting game for the entire family.
With Mario Party 7, the Wii's digital library was expanded. Are you planning on releasing any additional games on the eShop?
Yes, we are planning to release some downloadable games through Nintendo eShop in the near future. I can't promise anything at this time, but I can promise you that we will be expanding the library by the end of the year.
