NHL 09 is set to be the first game in the NHL series for Kinect-enabled motion controls. EA Sports has revealed that it's working on the game, and that it's due out sometime this fall. The ability to control a hockey game on your living room with a camera may seem a little strange at first, but it's certainly a welcome addition to the already-popular franchise. While many fans are wondering whether EA Sports can accommodate the game's unique-looking camera angle, Microsoft is promising "realistic" facial animations with this new feature. The publisher is promising "realistic" animations with player animations, which is a first for the franchise.

EA Sports also announced that the game will feature an "exclusive in-game league" with other NHL titles, like this year's NCAA Football 10. No further information is available as of press time.
