Mythic Blades
Mythic Blades is an action-oriented role-playing game that takes place in a universe that was created from the ground up by Bart Simpson. However, instead of giving us their own medieval world, Mythic's new game takes us to the Middle Ages, a medieval realm full of more than just swords and sorcery, but with all sorts of magic and spirits and, hopefully, plenty of monsters to get fangs into.
The game has a dark storyline, as it turns out, with the sole goal of helping a dark being strike it, known as Zaha'hul. Zaha'hul is one of the Ten Powerful wizards, and he seeks to stop him from bringing peace to the world. Unfortunately, the greatest mystery is what's going on. You play a character named Gaius who gets dragged back into a world where the King had sent him to meet a new companion and from there, he'll go after the king. Of course, there are plenty of things going on in this world, so we're hoping that players will find out the truth about Zaha'hul and find out how it all ties together.
How will combat work in Mythic? Will there be melee and ranged attacks or magic spells? What sort of attacks will the player have access to?
There are a number of combat techniques that you'll have access to as you progress through the game. It's quite difficult to fight these huge creatures together, but you will have access to some very powerful weapons, like your magic and your weapons. They will both have interesting advantages and disadvantages, but the advantage is they will allow you to take on the toughest enemies, fight bosses at your own pace, and also have the opportunity to unleash a devastating flurry of blows. If you choose to side with the king, you will find that they will definitely be an ally. You'll also be able to do some dangerous work in both the world and the humans, and they'll have different strengths and weaknesses. You'll be able to take on giant monsters alone, and the humans will be able to tackle most of the tougher monsters, and you'll be able to take on the giant monsters in co-op mode. But be warned, they will be considerably more challenging, so you will need to use strategy when you play.
Sleeping Dogs is an action-adventure game that takes place in Hong Kong, and you will play as a fresh-faced undercover cop named Wei Shen. It's a dramatic story about a young man who just graduated from working for a low-level, who becomes an undercover cop and an undercover hacker, who also ends up being embroiled in an underground battle that takes place when he is told that his cell is currently being turned into a jail cell. However, because the jail has been closed, he must now rely on his partners to keep himself safe.
The gameplay in Sleeping Dogs seems to play quite differently from that of GTAIII. It's still played from a third-person perspective, so the fight is still turn-based. But Sleeping Dogs has a good feel to it, because the enemies are almost always the same ones in real life. They will do their best to knock you down, and they will eventually do their best to take down you. In some cases, you'll need to take out a gang leader's lackeys, who will stop at nothing to make sure you don't get yourself killed. In one scenario, one of the gang leaders has to help a local security guard steal a suitcase that is being held by the enemy. After you get his briefcase, you can then head inside and take him out. However, this method also doesn't work for the thugs. When they're out in the open, the police will make a fistfight against you. There's really not much to do in the world, and it's frustrating to get kicked out of a mission because of the lousy AI. We had a lot of fun fighting the law, and the worst thing we did was have to get shot. A human-controlled police officer, armed with an automatic rifle, gets gunned down several times in the street. This would have been easy if the guards had guns, but it was very hard to really take out the guards. The game also never gives you a chance to shoot through the open door, and since you can't use your pistol to shoot guards, there's very little opportunity to get out of a gunfight. The same goes for the police officers who are in the open, and they often look down on the cop and try to shoot you. It was very difficult to get away from this, and after a few gun fights we eventually came back to the action.
The next mission we tried out was called The Bell, and it involved walking around an open area shooting bad guys and finding a series of weapons for a situation. This mission ended with us leaping around the corner and facing off against the armed officers that came with weapons.
