Maximum Sports Extreme
Maximum Sports Extreme - our first title to see the arcade side of things - will be released in early January next year for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. We got our hands on both the game's single-player and multiplayer modes, and we were a bit surprised to find that the characters, environments, and modes haven't been changed from past versions of the game.
Maximum Sports Extreme was developed by two years of Yu Suzuki's Virtua Fighter series, which was one of the reasons the arcade title wasn't as well-received as Sega's Virtua Fighter 3: Evolution. The game was a huge success and has been gaining new fans to this day, and our experience with the game is currently telling us that the transition from arcade to home has been very smooth. If you're anything like us, you'll likely be a bit more on edge when you're not playing against the CPU, but this isn't exactly a surprise given the game's extreme difficulty.
To start, you'll have access to the first eight characters of Virtua Fighter 2: Special Challenge. All the characters in Special Challenge 1 have the same moves and basic moves, but there's a total of 36 characters. The other two characters are of the limited number of character slots, but the four bonus characters have different move sets and are all much stronger than the characters that are in Special Challenge 1.
There are only six backgrounds available for the fighters in Special Challenge 2, though it's definitely disappointing to see them all disappear from the game, even after the two extra levels. Some of the backgrounds will look similar to those in the original game, but all of the backgrounds have been removed in the update. This means that each stage has very different look-out-of-the-box characteristics.
Virtua Fighter 2's online component is a bit more limited than in Special Challenge 1, as there's no real lobby system and you can't compete against other players in your game lobby. You can only play two players on the same host, but you can choose the same number of characters if you like. For the most part the lag issue occurs, and you can only play online in the lobby.
There are some changes to the actual game. The character roster has been changed to include the only fighters in the original game, who is missing, and both users can play against each other in the same match. This includes the original five fighters, and that doesn't mean you can't play against someone in your game lobby. All of the fighters in Special Challenge 1 are included in this update. All of the characters in Special Challenge 1 will be new to the Ultimate fighting game and will be immediately available to purchase. This means that the characters will be the ones that are featured in the Special Challenge 1 update, and we'll have a hands-on experience with each one of them. The fighters are not included in Special Challenge 1. In addition, there will be a couple of small changes to the Ultimate game to make it that much better. First off, everyone in the lobby can now select their favorite fighter. If you have created a character, you can still select a fighter that you would like to play as. Second, the stages will be replaced with what are called a "paths" that will add different arenas to the arenas. These paths will vary according to the level of the character, and you'll see the same three out of five available to you depending on the stage. In addition, there will be four new characters to pick from for each Character, so you can have your favorites as well.
We'll also have a quick look at the new items in the Special Challenge mode. The first item is a piece of paper, which can be exchanged for items in Special Challenge 2. The other item is an electric plug that can be used to call in a missile, and you'll be able to use it to knock down and knock down foes. The catch to the item is that it'll not work in tandem with your character's one-hit attack. This means that you can easily use your enemies as far as possible without swapping out weapons. Once you've beaten the main game you'll be able to move onto another side of the arena and open up new paths for you to follow.
The other item is the spine-tingling beetle, which you can find hidden in the levels. This beetle is a fast, nimble character that will use it to attack and attack enemies that come at you from all directions. There are several different types of items to pick up on the way to the main story levels. The basics are simple--you can ride an beetle with a charged attack, or you can grab a monster with a jump attack. After beating the game, you'll be able to grab a buddy in Monster Hunter Freedom 2. You'll have two slots to use two other weapons on the screen at once. As you progress through the main game, you'll have access to a more powerful set of weapons.
