Magical.Battle.Arena
Magical.Battle.Arena.Magic.Arena.Arena.It's a game that was originally conceived in 1969 as a traditional multiplayer shooter. The game has many facets, but a real game, it's not like a tactical shooter. The maps are bigger and the monsters are bigger, but you're going to have more versus action. Since a game is still a sort of sci-fi battle arena, the action is more than good enough to make you feel like you're fighting in outer space.
Magical.Battle.Arena.Visually the game looks very much like the classic titles of yesteryear. The designs are similar, but the game is now almost unrecognizable from its peers. The characters' sprites are drawn from 12 different types of Earth-based beings, and they all have very unique designs that make them easy to identify. For example, the monster has a long-necked tail with a chin. The soldiers look like miniature insects, but you also see small, slender figures like what the makers of Robotech might have made in an army. The same goes for the mechs. The backgrounds and character sprites are also quite distinctive, but they're also quite different in places. Like in Robotech, the enemies in Robotech are rendered in 2D, but they still use sprites that aren't polygonal, so the whole game is a bit blurry. There is also a slight chance that the environments may be larger than the terrain but not as large as they appear. This leaves the developers with a challenge, because the terrain looks so detailed and gives the game a great sense of scale, even when zoomed out into the horizon.
The PlayStation version of the game, Robotech: Battlecry, was already finished before Sony let it ship. The team has been working on bringing the game to the PlayStation for some time now. As far as the game's gameplay goes, Battlecry is a hybrid action/shooter that's more arcade-like than it is a flight-combat game. Unlike the space combat genre, Battlecry is a third-person shooter, but the levels have been designed with a hand-drawn look. The end result is an extremely varied game that is reminiscent of the GoldenEye 007 and No One Lives Forever films. There's a lot of style and polish in this game, and it's a solid game overall.
Unlike many other shooters, Battlecry features a 3D engine and a large assortment of weapons. Unlike other shooters, Battlecry does not let you zoom in on an individual weapon, like in No One Lives Forever, so you won't have to worry about your ammo running low when going into a battle with a laser rifle. You can also keep the auto-aim and engage in 3D (though the game looks very smooth).
The first mission in Battlecry takes place in the San Francisco Bay Area. The next level, Homestead, is the first mission in the game, and it features lots of exploration and combat. The level has a huge cathedral, with some interior areas that can be easily accessed by simply flying over them. You'll have to approach the cathedral with your jetpack and climb a few steps until you find a way out of the building. Once inside, you'll have to make your way through a number of rooms, extinguishing a flame while also entering a closed gate. Keep moving, and you'll eventually come to a hallway that's a bit too wide to see. Your weapons are only effective at short distances, so you'll have to fight in close quarters.
Celestus will be the major enemy in the game.
You'll encounter a number of battles before the cathedral, and you'll have to fight your way out and destroy all the enemies in the room. In the first level, you'll play a little minigame called Egg Wars. The goal of the game is to light the torches on the ground and activate the power. One of the minigames is to light all the torches on the ground, while the other is to move and activate a timer. You'll have to do this quite a bit in order to get to the goal. The timer begins at the end of the level, but you'll be able to get to the goal within two minutes. The faster you light the lamps, the higher your time limit will go. To beat this game, you have to light all the torches on the ground, otherwise they'll deplete your time. Each time you play, the time will be significantly reduced, and the enemy will be more difficult to beat.
You'll also encounter two types of weapons that can be used at once: weapon fire and dynamite arrows. The dynamite is used to set a bomb in the ground, and when the bomb is active, it will cause a timer that's shown in the lower left corner of the screen to light up in the black.
