LHXY
LHXY has worked on a number of major Marvel films including Iron Man and The Avengers .
Last year he was spotted in Breaking Bad , in which he was playing a writer who had hit a breakthrough in his life.
Now his work has seen him returning as Wicked & Wound and leading a writing team of ‘disruptive’ writers.
“You never hear me say that the screenwriting talents on this project are there,” he says. “This writer is back in the ring. The writers are a very different breed, he’s still dealing with tragedy and regret. I think it’s kind of interesting that, as it’s part of a larger international effort, he can play his part and take it off the script and just do it himself.”
He added: “That was a challenging and scary first turn.”
Meanwhile, Dermot Mulroney, whose work includes four Oscar-winning films ( Clerks , The Waterboy , The Lovely Bones and Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them ), is currently working with the other directors for Gone Girl , a thriller which Legacy and Sex And The City co-star Amanda Seyfried. Mulroney, on the other hand, has been tapped to direct the mystery drama Between and Clerks , which is currently filming in Greece. The former Die Hard scribe was previously attached to write the script for a new mystery drama, but it sounds like Between has moved on to other projects. Mulroney, meanwhile, has been talking to RadioTimes about his new Mystery Comics drama. “My hope is to bring something a little bit different, something different. I’ve been reading a lot of stuff in Mystery Comics ever since I started writing it, so it’s been a long time coming,” says Mulroney. “So it’s really an interesting place to be. I’ve been like, ‘this is a good book to tell. This is a great story,’ but I hope it’s a little different.” Since it’s a mystery-thriller, we’re still not convinced it’s even a reality. The producer’s also quick to point out that Mystery Comics is not a spin-off to Mystery Comics . “We’re not trying to tell the story of the events of the first time,” he says. “It’s just an anthology of a few characters from across the entire universe.” “It’s not just a one-shot; it’s a new comic anthology.”
In all seriousness, this is a definite possibility. Although at present, the team have not finished the series. There’s also a chance it’ll be shelved for a third time if that happens at the flick’s end. “There’s a possibility that we could eventually go back to the third time and do it in a different timeline,” Siegel says. “We hope to finish it and then bring it back to the studio in a sequel, which I think might be great for the company.”
The studio behind Secret Wars have been busy with their upcoming project, The Umbrella Academy. In June, Netflix announced the next season of the hit superhero series. Although the show is not yet on the streaming platform, fans of the comic-book series can check out some official images from the upcoming series.
This is not the only time Secret Wars has been canceled. In July, The CW canceled its superhero team series. Though both ABC and DC canceled Secret Wars, they have not yet renewed the show.
If you’ve missed the news, you can watch the first two seasons of Secret Wars on HBO Max (opens in new tab).
One of the most prominent comic book cancellations on the platform this month is Scott Snyder’s Justice League. Not only did HBO Max cancel the show following its premiere, it also canceled a potential live-action Justice League film, before it was given the go ahead. However, fans of the film will be pleased to know that the director will be returning to direct the project.
This story on the Marvel website (opens in new tab) was published from Deadline (opens in new tab).
'Rest in Peace' has gone online a little less than 24 hours after it was announced, with no release date in sight.
The reason behind the cancellation of Secret Wars is the fact that Season 2 is already streaming on Disney Plus.
