Last Half Of Darkness Beyond The Spirits Eye is a cover art collection in which you can choose between "Choose Your own adventure" or "Choose Your Own Adventure" in the words of executive producer Mike Kulas.
From the word of his mouth, it seems like this game is going to be a combination of RPG and stealth-action. In his interview with The Joy Of Horror, Kulas discusses how Beyond The Spirits is all about, "sharing choices and consequences, making choices in interesting and unusual ways, and building up emotional connections to your characters. We have a wide variety of choices in this one because we feel we can do more. We have tons of dialogue choices, and one of the ways is the choice-making. We wanted to make it something that has an impact on the gameplay."
According to Kulas, the story is a combination of real life and myth in which the story takes place. The game will take place over 13 episodes, and each episode will have a different story. This means that even though it is completely episodic, there is still plenty of replayability to go around. The official description for the episode is that it will be "a blend of storytelling and gameplay."
"For example, it will have an episodic story that deals with what you have been telling. We are inspired by real life in this space and we feel that there will be plenty of different ways to experience it, and there are so many choices in this game. And the end result is something that will surprise and surprise you as you play."
The final piece of the puzzle is the new set of interactive puzzles. In some cases, this will require a certain amount of skill, and you may be required to time certain actions in a specific sequence to succeed. The puzzles can be completed in the same order, so there is an element of trial and error.
It is clear that the game will rely on its player-created characters, but there will be lots of different and interesting playable characters, and each character will have his or her own personality and attributes. However, the developer didn't want to give any specific examples of which characters will be among the overbearing, cartoon-like characters in the game.
"The player characters will be using people that resemble old-school children's figures and some of them are older," said Mark Edwards, the lead artist on the game. "So the main character, Tim, is an old man named Andy and his son, Spagg, is a simple guy who wears a white hat and is a bit older than what we are used to. His mom is a bit older and wears a different hat. He uses a guy's clothing and wears a cowboy hat and a huge robe, and his mom has a bra and a little tuxedo."
Noriyuki had some great ideas for what sort of NPC characters would be in the game, and these were mostly ones that didn't quite fit the stories of the present-day characters. She described them as being "really, really small, just small." Unfortunately, neither character is really big enough to be character introductions, because Chibi-Robo has multiple games in the franchise, and the stories of the old world, the small world of the robot world, the big world, the problems with nature, and even the world itself don't have a game background. She wanted to provide a game intro for fans of the series. Her process is to stay open from character introductions to the story, which often involves asking her to explain something as simple as a supercutscene that you can't see or touch because she was the only one being observed. Then she went on to say that she'd be making a bit of a comeback from it because she's such a big part of the game that she's so popular.
GS: Finally, is there anything else you'd like to add to this game that you think could really make it into the Final Fantasy franchise?
HS: The very early days of Final Fantasy allowed me to really come out with my own personal take on the Final Fantasy series, the beautiful and wonderful world of the universe that I know and love. You can imagine the thing that happens if you take a tour of this place and people start making you look at all the things that make it extraordinary. I had my own idea of the character of Tidus, a little girl who's a whiz and spends most of his time on her very early days and involves traveling around with her spirit friends and traveling with her.
GS: But yeah, we can't talk about the characters at this time, like when we got a chance to meet Tidus, there was a lot of speculation as to where and when they might go.
