Joint Operations Typhoon Rising
Joint Operations Typhoon Rising, the latest installment in the multiplayer-focused WWII action game series, is headed to North American shores. The title is being developed by Red Storm Entertainment, the company that created Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising and the first expansion pack for the original Joint Operations. The second game in the series, Typhoon Rising, focuses on a mysterious island of Japan's Ookui region, which, much like the setting of Joint Operations, is ancient. However, the island was quickly abandoned by the mysterious alien race known as the Levi (a race of thieves that appear to be from Japan). Since then, the Tsutomu, a technologically advanced supercomputer, has reemerged, and the islands are now filled with pirates and other dangerous combatants.
The new game's single-player campaign will include about 20 missions in total. The new campaign will also feature a different mission structure and take place in one of the new islands. The new missions are spread over 10 new environments, each of which will have a different objectives that need to be completed before they can be explored. The new game's weapons are scalable, and they will include more than 800 weapons, which can be found in enemy vehicles. Additionally, new weapons such as the FAMAS machine guns will be included, and they will behave in much the same way. For instance, when you shoot someone, you can throw a single headshot at his body, which causes his head to fall off and explode on impact. This doesn't necessarily work, though, because the guns do not break. In the original game, you could attach a sniper rifle to a target, which then fired in a hail of bullets.
The new game's visuals are nearly indistinguishable from those in the first game. Each level has a new look, and you'll see distinct landmarks in the distance, such as a cathedral that looks a bit like a cathedral, or a marketplace that looks a little like a museum. Additionally, certain levels will have more than 400 possible weapon effects, such as the muzzle flash and reload times. In addition, weapons such as the Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle will be a little easier to handle in action, since it uses iron sights. The game will also feature a number of new destructible objects, such as an exploding barrel, which is now made of brass, and a bullet that causes enormous explosions.
Graphically, Unreal II looks quite impressive. Unreal II uses the same characters and environments as the original game, and, in addition to the same environments, there are several new particle effects, such as real-time lighting and particle effects, which makes everything seem a bit more realistic. The game also features all the characters and environments that are featured in the original Unreal and Unreal Tournament. Some of the game's bigger changes have been included in the game's sound, such as the damage system that gives off ragdoll splash and effects like dust and steam coming off of barrels.
Ascension will also have a number of new multiplayer features that should add to the game's replay value. For instance, Unreal II's cooperative multiplayer mode will be twice as long as the original game's, and it will let two players compete against each other in deathmatch-style matches. All of the new multiplayer modes include both team deathmatch and team deathmatch modes, and a new addition to the game's deathmatch mode is the extra bonus of four new maps. There's the Capture the flag, which plays similarly to the original game's capture the flag, but instead of holding control of the flag, the attacking team must use it to make their way to the opposing team's flag. Finally, the first new map--Grenade--is the excavation site of an ancient city that has been in use since the second game.
The teams in Unreal II will have a number of different vehicle types to choose from, which will range from the more standard ground troops, such as the armored armored personnel carriers, as well as armored vehicles, such as armored personnel carriers and jet fighters. The game's AI will be very different from that of the original game's, which featured relatively simple commands that only a few abilities could learn at a time, like spitting out the same soldier as himself or changing your armor color to mimic a soldier's color, armor color, and weapons. Unreal II will feature the same three basic commands: fire, "paint," and lift. The default firing mode will fire off in a single-shot or single-shot, but a single shot will fire with both. The lift command will take you to the upper levels of the map, where your enemies can be taken out with ease. Meanwhile, the "overdrive" command will let you get to places where enemies will attack or be forced to retreat. Both options are essential to surviving.
Not everything you see in Unreal II will be recorded on the Unreal II hard drive, though, so you'll still need to ensure that you are reading your movements.
