Jetfighter 2015
Jetfighter 2015 marks the return of Jetfighter in the form of a reboot of the game that was canceled, with Capcom opting for a more action-focused approach instead. The original Jetfighter was released in 2003 and was the last entry in the series of games from developer Terminal Reality. The series was an offshoot of the Street Fighter and Castlevania series, a fact that was highlighted at the 2003 GDC press conference. Since the original series was rebooted for the PC in 2004, there has been an explosion of video games. And with the recent success of both the recent F-Zero: Climax and the recent release of Phantom Dust, we're not only getting a brand new version of the series, but Jetfighter 2015 is being hailed as a major success.
Jetfighter has always been a fighter-lite shooter. It features highly realistic physics and graphics that, while not always top-tier, add some atmosphere to the action. The original Jetfighter featured a wide variety of weapons that, while fun, weren't as satisfying as some of the standard shooter weapons in games. In 2015, Jetfighter is getting a remake and will likely follow the same basic formula, which will offer new types of gameplay for longtime fans. The game is set to release sometime this year on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
