Island Xtreme Stunts

Island Xtreme Stunts is a racer where you control a single-seater car that can move about the screen in a myriad of ways. A few vehicles can be damaged by these changes in perspective, and the tires are set to slightly rotour as you spin your wheels around. And you can ride on the walls, walls, or other surfaces, and there's a pretty nice sense of speed.

Of course, if you're worried that the game's "karek" feature is actually so far down the line that you can't read them, then don't worry - as the game is actually quite fun, and certainly one of the better ones at least.

Players can compete in six different game modes: Drift, Destruction, Hiker Battle, Rally, and Gang Battle. Each of these game modes features only a limited number of cars (five of which you'll be able to race using the "track breaker" function), and there are no real surprises for players who don't care for any of them. Still, the package is slick, and even the second it's played, is one of the better-looking games we've seen in recent memory, and there's just something about being blown away by the trucks, trucks, and suspension of the cars that is just as satisfying to drive on as it is to drive on.

There are some nice elements of the Xbox Live integration, too. When the game ships, you'll find three online games: Dodge Charger, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, and Road to Hill 30. The online features include several games to choose from, including an arcade version of Pac-Man, which we got to try out at E3.

Of course, there's a long list of features that you'll be able to download, but the big draw of this game is its impressively robust physics engine, which is most noticeable in racing games. As in most rally games, your car will blow through anything that comes its way. To change the direction of the car on the track, you'll tap a square button to ram into another car. It's a simple process, and it actually works pretty well. The game will feature one of the most impressive physics engines seen in a racing game. In Dodge Charger, you'll simply have to time your hits to produce a good amount of speed. While the game will feature a full complement of physics, the designers at Monolith have taken the concept to a whole new level.

GripShift's physics engine is among the most realistic that we've seen in a racing game.

When you play the game, you'll find that you'll have an arsenal of over-the-top weapons and a number of different vehicles to pick up along the way. You'll find these scattered throughout the game, and they'll let you lock onto opponents in a single pass. You'll also be able to pick up any weapon in the game that's not normally available at the end of a lap. You'll have a handy radar that will alert you when a car is about to explode, so you can keep an eye on your vehicle and run straight into another player. You'll also have access to all of the game's 12 main weapons and eight special weapons. You'll find five different assault rifles, one pistol, one shotgun, one machine gun, and one rocket launcher. Each weapon will have its own unique characteristics and ammo types. For example, the rocket launcher fires explosive rounds that will explode on contact with all opponents, while the chain gun functions like a machine gun, but if an enemy is on the other side of a ramp, it'll fire on you and take out any players nearby. The chaingun is a powerful weapon that will let you tear through infantry. The machine gun is a much more powerful version of the submachine gun and is also capable of blasting a series of buildings, mines, and other objects. The heavy machine gun is a bit slower but packs a big punch. Finally, the battle rifle is a grenade launcher that is actually a sniper rifle. You'll find four different weapons in the game--the M1 Garand, M1911A1, M203, and the MR-2. All of the weapons can be found in the game's single-player campaign.

The latest version of Gunship will feature three unique single-player levels: The Western Front, the Japanese Navy Base, and the German base. Each mission is set in Japan, and although the Japanese base is fairly well-detailed, the western missions are a little different. For instance, you'll find yourself controlling a small infantryman in the training area of Ichihara, and while he's obviously doing all the heavy lifting, he's armed with machine guns. You'll also be tasked with blasting off enemy fighters, choppers, and other ground vehicles with the BTR.
