Inventive Workshop
Inventive Workshop has just finished their third installment in its interactive entertainment software Create A Workshop series. The developer, formerly known as C.W.E., has decided to move into a three-property development house, which is apparently where they came from.
Creative Workshop cofounder Scott Steinberg wrote the rules of the new model and said, "One of the big things about my first role was to get a game out there and create something for my partner to make. At this point, I think it's safe to say we've got a long way to go, but if I were to make a new IP from scratch, I would want to get creative in the first place."
"It's a very happy moment for me," Steinberg added. "I really appreciate the world of art creation and producing. I hope to create some games that take full advantage of the technology that has allowed people to create anything."
No specific game title has been announced, but hopefully we'll get an update soon.
If you have played Far Cry 3, it looks like you'll be happy to learn that if you played it, you'll get all the tools you'll need to do it. You'll need to complete various challenges as a trade partner to access a further set of items, but if you're finished with the game, your first will be unlocked. That's the way.
We got our hands on Far Cry 3 at Gamescom 2013. All that was available was an early preview. It's obviously a bit too early to tell exactly how much we're talking about, but Ubisoft has stated that everything will be built from the ground up to run on the current generation of consoles. It will run at a faster frame rate and have significantly more customizability than the previous games.
If you're a Far Cry 3 player, there's a lot to like about the old games. In Far Cry 3, your character has guns to fight in a tropical paradise. The other games in the series have moved away from guns and instead focus on gunplay. Ubisoft has also been attempting to bring the gunplay to the more hardcore FPS crowd with Far Cry 3. At Gamescom 2013, we were given a firsthand look at Far Cry 3's single player campaign, and there were some great moments.
Far Cry 3's single player campaign offers a slightly different feel from past games in the series. It still has a lot of the same Far Cry 3 action and over-the-top action you'd expect. But the developer has promised that, like Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3 will have an "easy mode." So you can play with just guns and will be doing it without having to worry about guns or equipment. Far Cry 3 will also have a "hard mode." In the single player campaign, you'll be more or less forced to fight hordes of enemies in a group of four. The reason why we chose hard mode was because it's more fun to play through the entire campaign, rather than focusing on a simple gunplay. Far Cry 3 also has a little survival mode, which is where you'll take on waves of enemies and then challenge them in the boss fights. The difference between the two modes is that Far Cry 3's bosses, when you defeat them, will award you with items that you can craft in your camp. The game will also have a "co-op" mode, which lets you and a friend play cooperatively with them.
However, the easiest mode might be a multiplayer mode that will be more about the people who have already completed the single-player campaign. In the game, all you have to do is take on waves of enemies and defend a base with your team. Like Far Cry 2's multiplayer mode, the level of challenge is not really limited to the number of people that can get in on the action. However, we have made sure to allow the player to really have a say in the world of the game. So, if you played Far Cry 2, there would be a lot more freedom to play and get to know a character that really had the abilities that they were looking for. The missions in Far Cry 3 will be much more challenging in that they will be less about it and more about survival and crafting.
The graphics are looking really good, but it seems like the game will be running at a smooth 60 frames per second. For those that do not have the best GPU or have a super high-end rig, such as the Radeon R9 290X or GeForce FX 2, then they'll want to look for more graphic quality that will have a visual quality that matches that of the games in the Far Cry series.
GS: What are some of the gameplay mechanics that you've added to Far Cry 3, such as air drops and guns, and do you feel like the game is continuing to attract a lot of fans of the series?
