Imagine Fashion Designer
Imagine Fashion Designer with a stylus; the one day your eyes will be blown away. That's exactly what we're about to do: Imagine Fashion Designer is coming out in October, with three new features.
Imagine Fashion Designer lets you customize your own person and an outfit shop--all with the goal of making your dream street or salon your dream, but it doesn't seem like that will be a problem, with the game apparently hoping to make it so your creations will actually sell for real-life money.
"The new points system makes it possible to hit the highest levels of happiness with one or more points," said Nintendo of America's executive vice president of marketing George Harrison. "We have created a feature that allows you to easily earn a point by walking the streets with an imaginary feeling of joy. Whether you're going to the local store, a spa, a soccer field or a city, we think this will be a great way to earn a point and earn a little extra."
We got our hands on a PS2 version of the game and found it to be just as zen and as addictive as the original, thanks to the very deep control scheme and unique art style. To get started, you'll need to complete your mansion in the basement by jumping between objects. Your goal is to find a couple of ladders leading to the inner door, then push the door forward with the analog stick. You'll automatically advance the ladder through the downstairs door, but when you finally reach the basement, you'll have to find a way to push the doors shut. The game makes the point-and-click mechanics easy, as you'll always have a small bar along the bottom of the screen that you can drag along to move around the puzzle.
Like any good puzzle game, finding a ladder in Haunting Ground will require some good mental preparation, which is why we got to see the game's opening sequence. The sequence, starring the playable character's wife, is presented as a short tour of a house that's just off the beaten path. Once you reach the grounds, you'll need to use the analog stick to move around the objects in the environment. The square button will move the camera around, while the square button will put you into a close-up view of the main character's face. Using the D pad, you'll use the face buttons to move around the environment, while the R button will shoot you. When the cursor moves around the environment, the camera will shift from behind you, making it easier to see where you need to go. You'll also have the ability to pull items from objects to increase the level of your inventory. For example, you'll find food that restores HP and eventually replenishes your health, while some other items will allow you to permanently increase your health. While in combat, you'll be able to move freely and use any item you can find. While in combat, the view will shift from behind you to behind you, giving you a clearer view of your surroundings. To combat enemies, you'll have a variety of firearms to choose from.
Once you've selected a weapon to use, the game opens up and lets you decide what kind of attacks to use. You'll have a primary attack with a limited number of shots and a secondary attack with a few additional projectiles, which include laser pistols and bladed daggers. You'll also have access to bombs and special items that have some variety.
A final perk to the combat is the ability to hide in walls. As you encounter enemies, you can take a brief pause to examine their contents and decide whether or not to attack. The system lets you know what enemies are within the walls, and while it will be useful in combat, the game does allow you to return to an area later in the game.
The graphics in Return to Castle Wolfenstein are simple, but they still offer an interesting combination of gameplay. You'll find the same variety of environments and enemies that are familiar from previous Wolfenstein games. However, the environments in the game are some of the most impressive. You'll have some obvious objects that are new to the game, such as hanging beams and railings that can be climbed over moving platforms. There are also an impressive number of cinematic set pieces that add a certain sense of cinematic weight to the action.
The voice acting for all the characters is excellent, and they all have their own unique personalities. Of course, in addition to the various enemy types in the game, you'll find plenty of other characters you can interact with. The opening level serves as a training area where you'll get to see BJ's unique skills, including his ability to use lock picks, machine gun-toting supersoldiers, and experimental blackjack moves. In the game's opening levels, you'll get to go through the game's first 20 levels and learn the basic skills. You'll start out with basic pistol-based combat skills, but as you progress, you'll earn perks that will let you get farther into the game's different areas.
