IL-2 Sturmovik

IL-2 Sturmovik, originally released in 1997, is still one of the best World War II combat simulations on the PC. It casts you as a member of the German war machine and lets you choose one of the Allied countries to assume control of. The game includes 25 realistic units including the Germany, the Americans, the British, and the Japanese. The war machine has been improved and features a number of new buildings and machinery that have been improved as well. There is also a multiplayer mode that supports up to eight players on LAN and a number of minigames.

IL-2 Sturmovik has been developed by Starbreeze Studios, the same studio responsible for the 1999 PC game of the same name. The game is expected to ship next month for the PC. For more information about the game, take a look at our full review of the PC version.
