Hologram Time Traveller
Hologram Time Traveller's Time Traveler was created in the tradition of Microprose's Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones. This four-player action game is a 3D game in which the player moves the avatar's "warp" button from the top of the screen to the bottom. The character will also have his or her own special move that he or she can use to hit enemies.
"Players will be able to choose from a number of different time travel gadgets in Hologram Time Traveler, including chairs, kolinsticks, bats, crowbars, and so on, as well as a pilotable vehicle and a scout droid that can deliver "impressive" actions to any character," according to the game's official Web site.
The game uses a compass that tracks the position of the player character, which gives an overhead map to the map. After that, players can move the cursor around to the object of their choice. The closer they are to the object of the choice, the farther they can travel. When picking items, the camera will automatically pan out, and when standing still, players can choose to interact with the object of their choice. There are also a number of available items that can be picked up, which can be dropped into the environment by human or enemy combatants. While the object of choice is pretty obvious--just looking at a stack of items that resembles the item of a barrel, for instance--the variety of items available doesn't end there. By the end of the single-player game, the weapon of choice will be none other than the aforementioned computer-controlled companion. The game will also feature plenty of multiplayer options, such as the deathmatch and team-based modes that can be played alone or with a friend. The deathmatch will feature a variety of game types, including team deathmatch, team capture the flag, team capture the flag, and deathmatch. Team capture the flag is a mode that plays just like the other modes in the game--if you team find a set amount of objects and want to capture them, you and the opposing team have to seize them. The deathmatch mode, meanwhile, pits two teams of three against each other in a race to be the first to seize the most item of all.
Though there are three distinct multiplayer modes available, only three are available for each of the three game types: team deathmatch, team capture the flag, and team deathmatch. Team deathmatch is a deathmatch mode that features two teams of four players against each other in a variety of different game types. Team deathmatch is a more traditional deathmatch mode, in which the objective is to hold onto a control point to gain control of the other team's base. Team capture the flag is more interesting because it's essentially a capture the flag in which the other team has a central control point. If your team has captured all the opposing control points, you must begin the match with all of your teammates on opposite sides of the control point, making the opponent's goal more difficult. The only way to win is to both take control of the key points at the same time and seize the other's control point, which can then be used for attacking or defending areas of the opposing team. Team deathmatch is a team deathmatch-style mode where the goal is to stay alive until the opposing team defeats their enemy. The team that controls the most control points first must then capture their core first, and then, if it's an easy enough win, you can complete the capture-the-hold-tower-style objective by capturing the flag and successfully taking it back. The team with the most control points at the end of the match wins.
If you'd rather play the game as a fast-paced shooter, then no worries--Majesty 2 has a number of different game modes that help with that requirement. The original Majesty had one mode, "Arcanist," that allowed for more strategic play, while the sequel has three. The game also has five multiplayer modes that let you take control of a team of wizards, but the final version of the game now features two modes: "of the sort" and "multiplayer" in the modes. The first is a game where the objective is to hold a goblin town in your own nation of peace, while the second mode is a multiplayer mode that features quick-play games on a single screen.
Once you've taken over a goblin town, your team is free to roam around town, looking for treasure and killing your opponents. You can destroy enemy towns, which gives you a way to earn gold for your army or buy new units. There are eight different units that you can command, and each one is capable of taking on different objectives. Each of the game's 10 units can be used as both siege and scout, and they can be upgraded to improve the specific ability of your units.
