Heart of Tibet
Heart of Tibet, the epic strategy game about you and a naval conflict, is finally ready to hit the shelves and has gone gold.
Reality Interactive has released the game's single-player story in English, as well as Spanish, French, and Dutch versions.
If you've got a bit of a nostalgia for the historical East Asian time period, you can check out the English demo to see if the title is right for you.
Heart of the Sands is set during the current China War. Players will fight against the constant conflict of the Chevalier and Karelian forces. The game was inspired by M'safia-inspired arcade game WarGames, the world's first comic book series, with better graphics.
Heart of the Sands is set in Tibet. Its story revolves around a small army from India's Yoshin (you may remember him from M's Crazy Horse to China's IL.) He sets off to free the land of the Chevalier, and you'll use new gadgets to find and destroy the enemies in the game. The game will feature a campaign in which you'll play as Shanghai PD, the center of an entire land, in your quest to rescue your family. You'll interact with new characters, including professional paean berserkers Wei Shen and hot-headed warrior Gung, as well as characters like Abigail Wu and (of course) Karim (a very handy-looking guy you'll want to call upon to help fight the bad guys).
Heart of the Sands looks great, and it definitely looks like it'll take advantage of the PS2 hardware to deliver some visually impressive games. The jungle environments are full of lush vegetation and great particle effects, and the weather effects are stunning. There's a good amount of variety in the game, ranging from slick outdoor environments to a host of destructible objects, which, in addition to the basic effects of steel and fire, adds an impressive amount of particle effects to your character. You'll see many cool effects when you're in the midst of a battle, and though there are quite a few effects in the game, the ones we saw included ragdoll physics, which was impressive but still had the potential to be a little hard to detect in the midst of combat.
