Glory Of The Roman Empire Chinese
Glory Of The Roman Empire Chinese communists have done some pretty good things in the past 18 months of making games in the genre. So far, four of them have been China's first attempt to make a war game (about a brave Roman oppressor who wages war on the state after nearly eight years). We've recently been speaking to its developer, TopWare, and we're happy to report that the company isn't trying to put out a mediocre effort, but rather is taking the time to make something special.
Glory Of The Roman Empire is a "no-win situation", and the title of the game is like an unhinged dream of Chinese imperial dynasties and dynasties, despite the obvious fact that it's one of the most old-school JRPGs ever made. This is also the game that TopWare CEO Xianna Pratchett has given us a few years ago, so what are the chances of us being able to play it in time for Christmas?
"There's a lot of chance of us being able to take a completely new, very experimental game," Pratchett tells us, "and with the demo we've released we've really worked on something pretty unique. We're just trying to build something unique. It's the game we want to make."
When we asked about the possibility of online play in a Sacred 2 interview with "Nicalis," and what type of sequel this game will appear to be, Pratchett responded that it's definitely an idea that hasn't been talked about in the past.
"The Sacred series has always been about story, and we don't want to set the player on the path of the world that we've created," Pratchett explains. "We don't want to make a branching storyline in a game where the players end up on one of two sides of the story – if they go in that way the game will be different but if the story branches and the player goes down that path the game will be different, but it's all set in the same world."
Pratchett believes that there's a strong desire from the fanbase to make games that stick with their audience and at the same time offer a unique experience for those who haven't played them before. "We believe that there are a lot of players out there who are passionate about the games and are trying to beat the game.
"There is also a lot of our fans that are very passionate about the games, and really enjoy the stories and the characters that they're experiencing. So we have a lot of fans that are very passionate about the games and are really enjoying the games. It's an incredible opportunity for us to give the players a lot of great experiences, and we think they're really going to enjoy them."
In particular, Durall states, "We've been so focused on building great games that players are really going to love, but we also want to do our best to create a great experience for them."
And as soon as you see Durall with the Kinect's voice and eye movements, you'll probably understand what that means.
"There's going to be a lot of cool opportunities for people who haven't played it, and if you can't get the voice recognition, that will be awesome."
How the first game to come out in 2014 will help Microsoft open up the world? Durall, "We're really focused on the games."
"I don't want to be flattered that we're building new IPs and getting the game out there," he says. "There's going to be a lot of new IPs. I don't think we're going to start going to have people who don't like the new stuff that they've been getting used to. They'll have a lot of positive opinions about what they think, and they'll say, 'Well, they'll like it, they'll like it'.
"I don't want to sound like a casual gamer. They've been playing Minecraft for 20 years now. We want them to have something that's really like Minecraft, and that's going to be something that's really fun for them and drives them to go into it.
"It's important to look at what they are going to be interested in, as well as what they're going to be excited about and what they're going to like and want to see.
"I don't want to sound like casual gamers. They're not going to like the new stuff that they've been getting used to, and that's going to be what they're going to be interested in.
"I would hate to sound like casual gamers. They're not going to like Minecraft, but they're going to like it, and they're going to like it.
