GangLand, the new 3D skiing game from World of Warcraft and EDF Software, was made available to fans a few weeks ago, but for many fans, that was an exciting day indeed. What's more, we haven't seen anything outside of what we've seen, and to our surprise, the game isn't even out yet.

However, we've been able to give a brief glimpse at the game for the first time. The playable demo was taken from a North American version of the game and features an open level, though at the time of its release, the North American version had fewer levels. The North American version is expected to come in early 2004, though at the time of its release, no one was expecting the game to be released simultaneously in Europe and the US. The game was also released in the US as GangLand, a helicopter combat game from Snowblind Studios.

GangLand is being developed by South Korean developer Kabam, and it's based on the same engine used to develop Dawn of War. Like Dawn of War, the game is set in a persistent, dynamic universe, and it features three playable factions: the Vanguards, the MEC, and the British. The Vanguards have set up camp in the North East of the game's North African setting, and they are equipped with a variety of weapons and military tactics. For example, the Vanguards have mounted machine guns, rocket launchers, mortars, and special moves. Additionally, the MEC have a machine gun that can shoot back in the direction of a target. Additionally, the British have a machine gun that can explode, though the game isn't entirely based on a single-player campaign.

Although it's known as a real-time strategy game, Empire Earth is played from a third-person perspective, and the game features three different-perspective camera angles. The third-person camera angles make it easy to see units or structures moving around the map, and the game also supports two-player cooperative play over LAN or Internet connections. A mission editor allows players to create levels for the game.

Based on what we saw of the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Empire Earth is looking like it will be one of the most ambitious strategy games of its time. The game will be powered by id Tech 5, which has come on-board to power many of the other PC real-time strategy games. In addition, its major feature is the ability to make advanced units with auras, which are what transform units into creatures that can be quickly dismantled and used in combat. The developers at Ion Storm are aware that the 3D graphics engine used in the first-person shooter genre isn't up to par, and there are plenty of comparisons being made between the first-person view and the first-person perspective. However, the game looks good, and the enemy units have detailed animations. For instance, the large, lumbering soldiers are not only incredibly detailed, but they move just as fast. They can crawl, crawl, and crawl around the environment, along with using their distinctive look and the voices of their foes. One of the coolest parts of the game is that there will be a robust battle editor that lets you build custom battle scenarios from a variety of sources.

Like most real-time strategy games, you can play the single-player campaign with a friend.

As far as the multiplayer goes, the game supports up to 16 players in deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag modes. There's also support for up to 12 players in team deathmatch and capture the flag in capture the flag. Battlezone will feature three different game types: capture the flag, a capture the flag-style mode, and domination. In capture the flag, you must capture a set number of flags scattered around the map. You then have to stop the enemy. You then have to place one flag and hold it until it becomes the central point of the map. It's up to you to win the game by placing as many flags as you can before the timer runs out and winning the match. As you play, you'll earn experience that will improve your soldier's statistics and rank.

In addition to the single-player game, Battlezone will have online play, allowing up to 16 players to play in deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. However, it will be possible to play in 16-player deathmatch and capture the flag modes as well. The 16-player deathmatch mode will give you six different maps, one on each side of the map.

We didn't get to see a demonstration of how Battlezone's multiplayer will work in action, but from what we've seen, the game does look promising. You can expect to see a variety of weapons and vehicles from the traditional Battlefield games, as well as some more surprising vehicle combat.
