Four Policeman actors: Lily Tomlin and Ben Hardy

They aren’t married, they’re going to be teenagers in the next film from the brilliant late Marion Cotillard, but they’re going to be friends. That’s according to Variety (opens in new tab), which reports that the team behind the movie is set to be collaborating on three new projects.

The other two will be productions of the Transformers spin-off that’s out on 16 October, with Uwe Boll as director. Idris Elba and Quentin Tarantino are set to direct a new movie about babysitting women. E-mails to them are in the works for Fox, though we’d assume that this means he’s up to a good job. As of yet we’re not sure how those are going to pan out, but the film will apparently be of more interest to the fanbase, even if they don’t really like the idea of the one-note character.

For all we know, while Michael Bay’s movies are good, this one sounds like it’ll be the other film in the Transformers Universe. The biggest idea for this film was how it felt to essentially be an animated movie in the mold of the cartoons. But they wanted to play into the animated world, which they’re currently trying to recreate here in the “Wanderlust” animated universe. It was pitched as a concept for the movie, but Bay revealed at the last year’s G4: “I think it’s going to feel really awesome.” It’s definitely going to be a very nice (and hilarious) experience.

What do you think about the look of this movie? Are you surprised by the film’s stylized look? Or is this just another spin-off or a follow-up to the 2014 movie?

I think the stylized look is going to make the Transformers Universe what it is today. The movies are so beloved, I think it’s very rare for them to try something different, and they try so hard to change what they’re trying to do with this movie. It’s kind of surprising, because they’re very successful at capturing that vibe, and they’re very successful at it. So I think it’s kind of a combination that we’re going to be able to sort of take away from the movies that we made and still retain to provide a very modern Transformers experience. I think we’ll be able to do that pretty quickly as well.

Me: I think you’ve also talked about the fans that have shown up on the movie screen, and you’ve also talked about those fans because there are so many people who are fans who have shown up on the movie that they want to see. It’s certainly been an evolving experience. And I think a lot of the movie’s fans feel really passionate about the movie because of the messaging, they’re very curious about what they’re going to get, and they’re quite curious to see the movie in a completely different way.

So we’re going to go over the design and what that will be. There’s going to be different forms, different gameplay, different weapons, different narrative mechanics and different locations that are on the planet. I think that we’ll have a pretty cool ‘Transformers versus The Predator’ experience with this game, which is going to be great, but there will also be an interesting element of how these things interact with each other.

How much will fans be able to access the exclusive weapons for these different factions?

Dawson: It’s a feature that we’re going to talk about as we speak, so there’s going to be an advantage to players that are interested in all of these elements. So that’s the general thinking behind what’s possible. We’re not going to say a word about this, but there are going to be some weapons that have the same iconic, pretty cool aesthetic that you see in the Predator movie. The Predator is sort of an alien, a talking shark, a very prominent figure in the movie franchise. We have some of the iconic ones that are either right or wrong, and of course there’s going to be the famous ones that have really amazing things to look at and can really do that. We have the other ones that are pretty interesting because they’re a little bit more alien, but they are clearly an alien.

As we’ve mentioned, there’s going to be weapons. You can pick up and carry pretty much anything you can think of. When you use them, you can attach a power cord to a gun that explodes and then you can use the Predator claws.
