Fortress Europe
Fortress Europe, Germany--EA will release Resistance: Fall of Man exclusively on the Xbox. This is the first game in the series to be developed for Microsoft's platform, and it marks the first time that the game has ever been released in Europe, as the game was released on the PS2 earlier this month. This makes it the first game in the series to also be developed for the Dreamcast.
There's a new setting, this time on the Mediterranean- Mediterranean island of Fortress, where multiple factions are vying to the cause and save the world. The game will feature 20 missions spread across six campaigns, as well as a skirmish mode. Heroes will be introduced to the player via the various unit types. You'll be able to assume control of any of the 20 units in the game, and they'll all be customizable to their liking. Some of the units will even have distinct powers, such as the rocket launcher, which fires off waves of devastating rocket rockets at the enemy's units.
The new mode will let you focus on traditional army management. As you progress through the game, you'll unlock new units for the series' armies. All the playable units will be from the original four series games, though the roster will feature new faces like Thug, who was included in the previous games. There will be some cool new units, such as the dragon who, like Thug, is based on the ability to fly around the battlefield and fly. The dragon will feature powerful flying and earth attacks, and it will also have a special ability that will let it grab your enemies. The dragons will also have access to one of the game's new enemy units, which are little creatures that will cause the nearby dragon riders to flicker and carry out their orders, which will include ordering your units to hurl projectiles at them. The dragon will have unique animations for each and every unit, so you'll have to keep track of what's going on by carefully keeping your units in formation. The dragon's attack, for instance, is a powerful beam attack that has a huge area-of-effect attack. Finally, the flying unit will have a superpowered attack, called a "frenetic vision," that is basically a powerful ground unit that can strike multiple enemies at once.
Aside from the dragon, the dwarves will also have their own unique unique abilities, and they'll be able to cast the dark magic that was recently added to the game. The dark magic makes the dwarves immune to all magic attacks, but they will be able to use them at a distance as well. The dwarves will have two separate "dark powers," one for each of their respective races, and one for each of them. The dark power, on the other hand, is a reversion of the dark magic, and it's a way of making dwarves immune to all magic.
Like all the races in Neverwinter Nights, the dwarves will have different abilities.
Of course, each character will have his or her own unique "dark power"--an innate ability that will let him or her cast it upon a specific race. The dwarf will get the dark magic, for instance, as well as the dark ability, which lets him or her use dark force on enemies. When choosing a dark power, you'll choose a "dark" character, and you'll be able to select one of three different dark powers for each of the five playable races: humans, elves, and dwarves. Of these five dark powers, there are some that have no information on whether they are light or dark, and the information we got out of them didn't tell us that dwarves were being restricted to a specific type of character. The dwarves of Neverwinter Nights will also be able to develop specific skills. For instance, the dwarf's strength will be limited to the number of points he or she can spend on his or her basic attacks.
The elves of Neverwinter Nights will be able to command high-level warriors that are able to fight in melee combat, but they'll also be able to develop several special abilities. For example, the sorceress' abilities focus on creating a spell that gives her a superpowered energy blast, and they'll be able to cast it at an immediate location. Other magic spells include the force shout, which gives her the ability to cast a massive-looking spell that damages nearby enemies and has a chance to heal her. Other abilities, like dragon breath, will affect the level of their bodies, and they'll be able to shoot lightning bolts at enemies. The dwarves will also have the ability to build highly-customizable and highly-personal ship modules that will feature custom animations, like static-fire arrows, which will increase the strength of their weapons.
The most impressive aspect of Neverwinter Nights' spellcasting is the fact that it will be possible to create a number of creatures to join your party. The basic human race will be able to use its own basic professions, such as fighter, priest, and shadow, and the more advanced beings will be able to choose from a number of professions, like rogues, spellcasters, druids, and such.
