Fire Dancing
Fire Dancing is the first rhythm game for Sega's popular series of Xbox consoles that's going to be making its way to retail shelves this summer.
As you might expect, the game will boast a number of different modes. The main game will feature three different modes, known as Scratch, Start and Relax. First of all, you can play it on your own or with up to three other people. If you wish, you can create your own in-game dancers, who can sing their own dance routines.
You'll be able to select different dance routines and include dancing, choreography, lounge music, and an all-star "replay" mode. These are described as "easy-to-learn, rhythm-action-packed dance routines." The career mode will have you competing in five different dance routines, and the band's involvement means that there are plenty of different singing challenges.
As you go through the game you'll be able to unlock new challenges that will require you to bust out the song of your choice. One of the challenges will have you perform a simple, round sing-song play. One of the cool features of this mode is that it will also allow you to find shortcuts in the game. These shortcuts will let you bypass the ads, such as in previous Guitar Hero games. The skaters will recognize new routines, and they will recognize some of the tunes from the game as well.
In addition to the career mode, the game will have a new create-a-player option. This mode will let you create a custom character and upload it to the online world. The game will have two difficulty levels--medium and hard. The content will have an intro from the start of the song and a guided walkthrough from the beginning of the song. The walkthrough will give you a quick rundown of the basics of the game, while the walkthrough will give you a good idea of what to expect. The skaters will also appear as silhouettes, giving them a bit of character.
All the songs will be available for play in the game, including "Rocksmith's Ghost," "You're a Girl," "Let's Off You (All Guns)" and "We're the Rapper (No Doubt)." In addition to the main soundtrack, there will be two more songs for you to choose from. You'll be able to choose to listen to three different playlists, and the details on the songs will be displayed in the title screen. The songs will be available at random, and they will be available to download and play.
Once you have chosen the game, you'll be able to create your own tunes. There are three distinct playlists to choose from: solo, battle, and DJ. There are four basic playlists: one for single players, two for competitive play and one for multiplayer. When you create a song, you will have three options: solo, battle, and DJ. Solo play is the most traditional type of play. There are eight tracks to choose from, and each of the songs will feature a different style. The tracks can be saved and played in their entirety, and all of the tracks have different samples and themes. You'll find you can save the songs to a memory card for quick save and play back, and you'll be able to save them at a later time.
Music features are fairly simple. There are three main playlists: battle, DJ, and DJ. Battle is essentially a matchup mode, in which two players will be paired together, and the two players must battle it out. The battle mode consists of a series of five songs each. The matches can last around 30 minutes, depending on how much time you're given to concentrate on either playing on the special note, or fighting the tracks themselves. DJ mode is all about scoring points, and it works quite similarly to the stock mode. Every time you get a goal, a character's bar fills up, and he or she will call for assistance.
DJ is the easy to play and requires that you hold down the B button to go and pick up the notes. You'll need to learn how to play the music, and how to play it. The special note tracks are random, and they may be easier to guess if you're playing along to your next location or if you're taking a longer look at the title screen. You'll find that the note patterns are the order of the day, and the objective of the note charts is to be in the top of the screen when it's filled. The notes you collect are a combination of regular notes, notes that are suitable for the player to play, and notes that are appropriate to your favorite song, as well as the three main venues for you to choose from.
The basic format of the game is that you have a goal to meet, and you must play a tune before the note plays the correct note.
