Explomanica is a PC game about a high-tech cybernetic agent looking for a way out of a life that threatens to kill every human on the planet. That night, someone is attacked by a group of corporate cyborg assassins, including an enemy by a corporate leader who stole his genetic material from his own body. The assassins are soon caught in the crossfire, and this week was the first day of Allods: The Tales of the Desert. A glance at the launch trailer from March will reveal that the game's plot is pretty much the same as its console brethren, only the action is set in a different universe. However, to be honest, if you've never heard of Allods: The Tales of Desert, it'll probably not be so hard to get a hold of.

Visually, the game is very nice, and all the textures, terrain, and character models are what you'd expect from a PC game. Character models are detailed, with lots of textures and moving parts. Character portraits feature plenty of textures, especially when they're wearing the costume they're wearing, and your character model's hair and fur are highly detailed. Everything about the character models is based on their real-life counterparts, which is one of the major advantages the PC version of Allods makes over its console cousins. As such, you don't have to deal with some very stiff animation--it's just there for flavor.

From what we've seen of the game, the PC version of Allods looks very nice indeed. The levels and camera angles are very similar to those of the console game. Some sections will have some kind of desert-like environment, while others will have massive outdoor areas. Some sections will have the distinct appearance of water, while others will have ruins or tornadoes. As you progress through the game, you'll find that certain areas of the game are full of little surprises--some are hidden, while others are hidden. In some areas, you'll see a splatter of old earth on the screen, and some will have a similar tone to the visuals of the console game.

But in many areas, the game will focus on realistic combat, and we're told that all these elements will have their own unique flavor. For instance, while the vast majority of the levels in the game will revolve around combat, there are some key differences between the different weapons. For instance, a gun will be used to fire machine guns. Some of the weapons will have different accuracies than others, which may seem to have a significant effect on how you take out enemies.

Fortunately, your firefights won't be on a timer, so your only option is to sit back and fight in a tight spot. In one area, you'll find a heavy tank and a large, heavy gun turret. In another area, you'll find armored robots, armed with light machine guns. Your character will have a list of regular and secondary weapons that you can pick up during the course of the game, and the best weapon you can use during battle is the machine gun. Basically, it's a superweapon that you can fire on any enemy, but it will cost you an energy bar, which isn't rechargeable. As you go up in level, you'll find submachine guns, mounted machine guns, machine guns, and even a shield shield, which you can use when you're not actively in the heat of battle. The shields you can withstand by aiming down the sights will become more powerful as you go up in level, so you'll be able to take damage before it's able to regenerate. When you hit level two, you'll earn experience that will let you power up your suit, and once you level three, you'll be able to purchase a new weapon and equipment. In addition, when you're not in battle, you'll be able to find you can return to an item drop, pick up any of the old enemies you've slain and carry them back to your base.

When you're not in battle, you'll be able to customize your armor, weapons, and accessories. As you complete missions in the game, you'll collect material that will let you unlock new upgrades to your suit. These include enhancements to your armor that will let you improve it on the fly, such as better defense or speed. The armor upgrades will let you increase the rate at which you can regenerate health, so if you happen to get knocked out of battle, you can use a health restore potion. And you'll be able to increase your weapons and armor.

Aside from the gear upgrades, we've seen a number of different enemy types in the game, including soldiers, riflemen, marauders, and bloodthirsty mercenaries. In one mission we played, our character had to take down an armored sniper guarding a German fort, which was surrounded by an enemy soldier. The grunt also had to breach into a port in the middle of a town, which we had to sneak past, and then sneak past him.
