End Of Twilight
End Of Twilight has the next one in the working title, with Shailene Woodley taking over as showrunner.
Blimey earlier this month it was confirmed that the Twilight team would be adding a new showrunner to the series (the company just signed up the BBC after shooting a pilot for the show).
But now it’s been confirmed that she’s been given the job of running the show until just before The Wind hit screens.
Woodley will be adapting the character to a small screen movie that’s based on the novel by Thomas F. Gilgun.
Speaking about her plans, the American actress said: “I have been in high spirits for quite some time now, and I know people are eagerly awaiting it. But this one is so interesting. I've been in a lot of great TV shows, and I hope it's just as good. I think it's going to be great, but I'm very excited to start it. I've been an intense fan of the books so far, so I've had a lot of time to refine it.”
A series of episodes will premiere in 2016, but don’t expect to see it until 2015.
Having seen The Dark Knight Rises , we’re now convinced that McKenzie will be involved.
In an interview with MTV , she said: “I want to bring the character in a fun way, and in that way I've been able to delve deeper into my character, a man I had a long time thought about.”
And then, with her best friend and fellow Warner Bros executive producer, John Marrowman, she told MTV: "I'm extremely excited to be working with Neil [Maffrey, who's played The Joker] [in The Dark Knight Rises ]. I've read a lot of the comics, and I know he's been known to work with a lot of different directors. So I'm very excited to finally be working with Neil on the series."
Maffrey also confirmed to ComicBook.com that he will not be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
"When I read the first script, I didn't want to give any detail on who that character was. But, I guess… there's a lot of content for people to consume and I'm so thrilled that we're going to be doing the entire series."
Maffrey also touched on other comic book characters.
"What I'm super excited about is that we're starting to introduce some of those characters," he said. "He's got a very different personality to Batman. He's more optimistic and kind of repressed, as if he was learning from his mistakes. He's not really ready for anything, or anything that can hurt him. And there's a lot of depth to his character that we haven't seen before."
The confirmation of the title comes after fan theories sparked over whether the title character would be playing an integral role in the new film.
"You'll hear a lot of very specific things from the new Batman. He's this iconic figure from the comics, and he's this hero who will die if he's not saved. I can't even remember who he is, but I can tell you," Batgirl star Barbara Gordon told Variety. "She's trying to figure out how to save Gotham City, whether it's a big budget movie or something like that. And so what we're trying to do is tell a story about this character, and in a way that opens up the franchise, to really get people to know her and how she works."
New Night's edition movie is also getting a brand-new theatrical release date. The title movie will come to HBO Max in August, and the entire first season will be available to stream now. You can check out a trailer for it below.
It's been a busy week for The Batman. The latest movie in the DCEU is this December's The Batman, which stars Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, and Paul Dano.
The movie stars Andy Serkis as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Jim Gordon/The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon/The Riddler, and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin. In an interview with Empire, Serkis said he wasn't given an idea when The Batman was supposed to release, but it is now slated for a late 2022 release.
"I'm not sure I've made any concrete decisions on that date, but what I have shown in the past is that, from the beginning, The Batman was going to be a Batman movie," Serkis said.
The director added: "And we didn't feel like we'd have a reasonable timetable for how we would have adapted it.
