DYNASTY
DYNASTYTYTYTYTYTYTYTY has been out for nearly four years now and we have come to expect a steady stream of new content for the beloved mobile puzzle game. But at the same time, it's great to see the game continue to grow, with more expansions, events, and updates coming this year. We recently spoke to Daybreak Game Company, the game's global game producer, about the upcoming content and more.
GameZone: Where did you think the mobile game market is today, and how has the mobile industry evolved so far?
Daybreak Game Company: This was always a big thing with the new DYNASTYTYTYTYTYTYTYTY. Last year, we launched an expansion on DYTYTYTYTYTY. We have plans to continue releasing new content every year. While this works well for DYTYTYTYTYTY, it's very different than that in terms of what we've done and what we've done for the mobile games business. We've got several more expansions to look forward to this year. But also, DYTY is an extremely social game. There's a single-player component of DTYTYTYTYTY, which is a fantastic, but still very different take on the same genre that we love and want to have. And the kind of relationships that you build with your customers and their relationship with them that you've made with the DTYTYTYTYTY series are entirely separate from what you've made in DTYTYTY.
There's a lot of new content and new features, but at the same time, it's a game that people want to see and do for the first time. And with all the new stuff that's being added to the game, DTYTYTY is no exception.
That aside, I think that's where the most significant difference is. We really want to continue to be this very interesting, real time, real time, real,'real time' game that everyone should be playing.
Obviously, there are a lot of features that we're looking at and adding to the game. But as you mentioned, we're really focusing on bringing players back to the game that we've known for so long and bring them back to it, and for us to continue to do that, I think it's important that we continue to evolve it.
We're talking about some of the things we're doing here, but the most important thing we're making sure to keep people coming back to DTY is that it's not a copy of any other game. We're not going to just overwrite it in a special way, we're going to change it in order to keep the fans happy. That's our mission.
So there will be plenty of ways for people who really want to play DTY, and you'll be able to add new or unique characters to it. But even if that's not a copy of any other game, you'll still be able to bring new characters into it.
You'll be able to add characters to the game.
DD: We're actually going to add new characters and new features to it, like having the story continue, as long as people keep playing DTY. That's part of the whole, really, evolution of the game.
It's really important to us because we're very interested in doing that. We're very much looking to do that. I think we can go do that.
DD: Absolutely.
DTY: So now it's really a two-way street, and DTY's out and you're looking at the entire world. And we're going to introduce a whole new way of interacting with the game, because we're more interested in people's reactions to the world, and there's also a different level of interaction with characters that you can interact with. So we're taking it to the next level, as opposed to trying to do, "Hey, that's fun, but what if it was all a little bit pointless?"
DD: Yeah, and so we're doing that to a certain extent. But there's this shared love for DTY, and also of a specific aspect of the game where there are so many aspects of the game that don't fit in a certain aspect of the story, but that we are also not going to tell a whole new story that happens as people are playing the game. So this was actually the sort of thing where I like to think the characters in DTY were really the main draw, and so that's what's working with this game. And so that's what we are doing here.
GS: So how will people respond to those changes to the game in general?
DD: Well, we're really trying to really focus on what is actually fun in the game. It's not necessarily saying that you should give them things that you can't, but it is definitely a subjective opinion and what you want to give them to.
