Doubutsu Kisoutengai
Doubutsu Kisoutengai has been a highly anticipated Japanese role-playing game on the PlayStation 2. Developed by Aksys Games (later for the Sega Saturn) and published by Sega, Doubutsu is set in a medieval Japanese village, where swordsmanship will be a major element in the game. For those of you unfamiliar with Doubutsu, the game takes place in a 2D realm that has grown by on its overgrown branches. Aksys and Capcom are currently looking to develop Doubutsu-s gameplay, which will support the two-player tag-team system in Doubutsu.
The story will take place in a village that has been growing by on its branches, with villages on either side. Players will also be able to train with the game's protagonist, Vane, and travel to the village to learn the nuances of swordfighting, and they will be able to use them as a base of operations in the village.
The multiplayer game will use the PlayStation 2's connectivity with the PlayStation 2's modem. Doubutsu- will use the Dreamcast's Net multiplayer capability. Doubutsu- will be a fully 3D, online, and action-oriented role-playing game.
The game will take place in a real-world town that is inspired by Edo Japan, a Japanese setting for the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series. The characters will be modeled after Nobunaga's uniforms, and they will feature a number of familiar faces and creatures.
Other features that will be included in Doubutsu- will include the ability to join other players in an attempt to improve their standing, and the game will include an enhanced RPG system that will let players experience the game in full 3D.
According to a spokesperson from NGJA, the game will feature over 30 fully 3D dungeons that can be used in battles. The game will also have several different quests that will involve monsters and other opponents. When gamers talk to the game's publisher, a number of screens will appear to show their quest.
