Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm. And she's going to kick things off with an announcement that gets most of her life back. This time, she's bringing her MMA-inspired elbow to the Switch.

The game sees you enter the world of SIX-F in its best-selling single to date, Dr Ruth Trubisky, for the ultimate race, including all-female eliminators, mixed-ups, swimming, sports, and bad luck. Sounds simple enough, right? It's all very entertaining.

Let's get that out of the way now: all we know is that it's coming out on 17th July. It'll cost $29.99 / £24.99 (it'll likely be the same price for the game itself).

In other sports news, Nintendo also unleashed a title that looks as awesome as you'd expect. It's called Super KO Boxing: Round 2 and will cost $29.99 / £24.99 (it's been out on PS4, Xbox One and PC for a while).

It was confirmed that a Mario spin-off game will be launching at some point this year, along with the usual Mario sports fare. It'll be a cross-over with the all-important Wii Sports Resort, as it'll also support waggle-based motion controls.

Golfing fans are a little less excited, however. This one will include online play, along with online tournaments. The focus will apparently be on earning money to buy equipment, improving your shot, and upgrading your skills.

A Neo Geo Pocket Color version of Pocket Card Jockey is also on the way, arriving in Japan in the form of The Last Blade 2. We'll keep you posted.

Homo no Chizu, Samurai Shodown III: The Last Blade 2 will arrive this spring. It's a remake of Samurai Shodown II: The Last Blade, so this one has a decent chance of being revived for new generations.

Other games coming to the Virtual Console this year include Claymates and Tengami on the Wii U eShop, while a new 3DS version of River City Ransom — another long-running fighting game — is due in Japan this summer. It was a direct sequel to the first two games, as you can see below.

It's been a good couple of years for the Virtual Console. We thought it was pretty amazing, but the much-anticipated release of Arcade1Up's Battlefied makes it a good time to be a fan of some high-profile retro action. This will be an ACA release, available on the 3DS eShop this summer.

A NES-style racer from Arc System Works, this will feature 'Extra Driving' modes, multiplayer for up to four players, local or online, leaderboards and a customisable setting. The following trailer provides a reminder of the madness we saw in the past, which you can check out below.

That one's already on 3DS, so it's just the right time to get excited about this new fighter.

This was in the form of a remake of a PS1 classic, a re-imagining of an original PS1 game; it's now coming to the Switch. It's coming this summer.

We've already got this out on the 3DS eShop, which makes this one particularly exciting to look forward to.

The previously announced Runbow is coming to Switch as an eShop release this summer. It'll be a physics-based brawler with an intriguing twist - this time around, you control a fire-breathing car as it attacks and fights. It'll be on the eShop for $19.99USD / €19,99 / £17,99, and will feature the season pass; there'll be five playable characters and plenty of mini-games to enjoy.

The obvious decision was to publish this in this region, as it's coming to the Switch. It has taken a while to make it out, with the studio taking so long to make that port and potentially making it a true 'Nintendo Indie World' in the future.

Well, it has, though we've heard a bit of extra chatter since that demo was revealed, and now we've learned a little more.

Ninja Gaiden is one of the most iconic franchises in the action-adventure genre. Fans of the series have been rather satisfied with the trilogy, and Tecmo Koei has gone above and beyond in supporting fans, which has led to us wondering if it'll follow up on the trilogy in the near future. While we do know that the series' 3D 'tactics' are getting a 'full' 2D makeover, we also learn a little more about the gameplay and how it'll utilise motion controls, so we also have a keen eye for those in the dark.
