Damnation
Damnation is a real-time strategy game in which you take command of a fledgling military force of adventurers, charting new territories to rebuild and recruit. Developer and publisher Mastiff Games has created a game that lets you command massive armies of warriors, each of which has different strengths and weaknesses, such as armor, weapons, and guns.
As the leader of a group of war-loving heroes, you'll begin with just a few basic troops, such as a sword-carrying siege rangers and burly warriors. You'll then move your forces up and down the map, which will include archers, swordsmen, and tanks. You'll also begin with the occasional brigade of foot soldiers. Your heroes can choose from any of the three types of heroes: warrior, archer, and brawler. As you progress through the campaign, you'll be able to unlock a range of powerful fantasy classes and equip your heroes with their own unique attributes.
Damnation will feature a lengthy campaign that will unfold through 15 different scenarios spread across five regions, each of which is based on a real-world historical setting. There are also unique scenarios and scenarios that must be played multiple times to progress. For example, during the first mission of the game, you'll take control of one of five factions--each faction will have its own individual mission objectives that must be played in the same way. For instance, the first mission of the game will ask you to free an enchanted hamlet from a demon, while the second will force you to defend a nest of mounted soldiers from a gargantuan lizard.
You'll play the role of the third faction in Damnation, the knight.
Each of the campaigns in the game will feature a unique mission to undertake, with different scenarios varying in style. In the first campaign, you'll take control of one of four knights from the Crusades, and in the second campaign, you'll take control of one of five tribes in the African region of Aparo. All of the missions in Damnation will be very similar to those in the Crusades, in that they'll present different challenges to you and their units in different ways. In addition, you'll be able to earn upgrades to your armies, such as adding new troops to your arsenal and beefing up your existing ones.
On top of that, you'll be able to design your own army with a huge range of different units that you can build, such as the heavy cavalry. These units will give you more firepower, speed, and firepower when you take them into battle, and you can even replace your troops with beefed-up ones that will upgrade their respective strengths. We watched as a four-man cavalry regiment ambushed our opponents at the same time, and as the cavalry units were all in formation, we were able to do some of the same things as in the Crusades, such as produce a giant force of infantry to deal with the enemy, or even blast them with machine gun fire. There will also be a huge amount of unit types to mix and match, including specialized units that you can assign to different members of your army. These include the mighty Mongol forces, which have one unique ability; a heavy cavalry regiment, which has an ability that gives them better accuracy; a heavy cavalry regiment, which has a double attack bonus; and a powerful all-army unit, which has a good top speed and has better hit points. The big guns of Age of Empires 2 are the formations, which you can place on the map to make formations more effective. But you can also place artillery in the field, so the developers have included an archer unit, which can't move at all but is able to move as far as a cannon, so you'll have to keep moving to make sure you're getting out of harm's way.
The siege weapons in Age of Empires 2 will all have the same attack, defense, and morale bonuses.
There are a few subtle differences between the different types of unit types in Age of Empires 2. As you might expect, many of the standard infantry units--from staves to cavalry--will be able to get around obstacles and terrain much better. You can also research advanced technology in the form of medieval and economic units. For example, there's the stout warrior, who's also a ranged attacker. In addition, there are several kinds of armored cavalry. There's the baton, which looks a bit like a powerful blowgun, but isn't quite as devastating as the standard infantry units. This is because it's a melee unit, not a ranged fighter, and it's also capable of inflicting heavy damage. While it's effective in close-quarter combat, it's also very slow and weak compared to other ranged units. Still, the baton's lumbering capabilities make it a great unit to command.
At the moment, the game is a little too complex in terms of its tutorial.
