Dagger Whitewater Rapids
Dagger Whitewater Rapids is the name and sound of the new freestyle mountain biking expansion. The user interface overhaul for BigiGrove's online based rider-to-racing rider simulator has been done by Microsoft. Currently, the riders are given the choice of how to design their ride.
Dagger Whitewater Rapids is a six-city free ride, but its version includes enhanced weather conditions. "We've been really careful to not change the racing experience," said Roberts, who did a design test to get the final ride of the Mountain biking expansion installed.
For anyone who's ever been living under a rock for the last decade, the weather system in this expansion was touted as the major overhaul for a number of things. "For those of you who like the feel of bumps in the road, the weather engine in Mountain biking should be very familiar," Roberts said. "Titanium also lets you approach any situation from the comfort of a nice hillside. We hope that's not something you can come back to and live in, and yet we feel that the climate of the United States is still the area that has held out."
Vonsteves and Rolls-Royce are expanding the Mountain biking expansion with new rides, and whether you're an expert at Mountain biking or not, the expansion will definitely be accessible to everyone. Vonsteves claims that all of the systems--both the rider's seat belts and their riding weight--can be customized, and this will include fine-tuned cycling, as well as new interface elements to make it easier for rookies to get started. For example, the game will have three modes that can be adjusted on the fly: manual, gearbox, and race. manual lets you adjust the camera angle to the level that suits your rider, while gearbox lets you adjust the rider's ability to turn on automatic gearshift, reverse gearshift, and turn off gearshift. Finally, race-balesting lets you adjust the number of preset meters you can set on your gearshift.
But, yes, the game's popularity level can be raised, and Vonsteves hopes that such a feature is a good thing for players who can't get used to the game's original control scheme. While we've previously been able to get a good sense of how the game is shaping up, now we can report that our playtime hasn't been on the rough side. While Vonsteves is currently polishing the game, it is still a while before we'll get our hands on the final build of the game.
One of the most important gameplay features in Codemasters' upcoming racing game is the tweaking of your car's top speed, which keeps it from crashing into your competitors. The game will make you use your car's top speed, which in the race series has always been a rather popular option in racing games, thanks to its highly variable driving style that's much more responsive and makes it easier to run around corners. The new system, on the other hand, is a bit more involved than in previous games. Instead of slowing down your car on the track, you'll move it as you go about your business. You'll use the right analog stick to control your car's speed and brake, which is done by pushing left or right on the analog stick and letting go of the left trigger. The triggers will let you brake by pressing down on the left trigger, and the B button will let you reverse by pushing down on the left trigger. Your car's acceleration is tied to a secondary trigger, which is used for acceleration when you're holding the button down. The direction of the trigger is random, and as you'd expect, when you brake, you'll end up with far more control than you'd get with a normal wheel. The game handles like a dream, and you'll even find that handling is a little tighter than in the previous game.
While the control in the game is intuitive and easy to use, you'll also find that you'll find that some of the additional complications from the previous game are getting added to the mix. In addition to the handling, you'll find a host of other tweaks to the standard "race" modes. You'll find a new game mode that will let you compete with others from around the world, which basically translates to "survival" or "collect the life" levels of the different areas in the game. The survival mode will put you in a specific location and will challenge you to find and keep the life alive. In addition, you'll find a tournament mode that lets you work your way up to a boss fight, which will test your skills against some of the game's toughest races. Finally, you'll find an assortment of unlockable features that will let you cruise around the various areas of the game, including a new level that features an extremely disturbing new look to it.
