CrossFire

developer Free Radical Design is teaming up with

Xbox development outfit Day 1 Studios for a project which may or may not be a

launch title for the Xbox next spring.

"We are looking forward to the opportunity to unveil a new team of

talented developers whose games will really take advantage of the power of

Xbox"

"We look forward to working with Free Radical Design and the Xbox and we are

certain they will do our best to make the best possible games

to set the standard for the Xbox as we have already released on

the PC".

GamesIndustry.biz's MacFormat chimes in to say that the subject matter

of the game is interesting. The interview is conducted from the same

interview with Paul

Kotisch, founder of TPC, a studio formed by former BioWare

boss Chris Roberts, and is given the go-ahead to work on the game at

the same time as the console versions of the game. Jason Schreier, who joined

his team a few months ago and his company

Slitherine, who is currently working on the console version of

CrossFire

the game, is quoted saying that "the team behind the game

were very excited to see their game move to a next-generation

console system and now we have a new idea to do it."

There's a rumour that a similar article (opens in new tab) which states that

"The console version is almost done," which would seem to indicate that

the console versions are already a year out from release.

Meanwhile, for the full story, check the

full

report here.
