Code of Honor The French Foreign Legions
Code of Honor The French Foreign Legions, the new add-on for Ubisoft’s vampire-battling multiplayer game, has finally arrived on PC. At the time of writing, it’s available for pre-order on Steam for $39.99. The price tag of $39.99 is certainly enough to garner a sizable customer base, and I’ve no doubt a few more people have picked it up. The game is essentially a blend of the two from which Code of Honor is based.
In Code of Honor The French Foreign Legion, you’ll find yourself trapped in the deep shadows of the French countryside. You’ll be instructed to locate a piece of evidence that helps you unravel the mystery behind the English occupation of the city. Doing so will see you come face-to-face with a pair of other opposing knights. Though each knight is a competent fighter, the hard part will be trying to defend the castle itself from another nefarious party. To make matters even more difficult, you’ll have to fend off hordes of archers that will take advantage of your advantage of their strengths. It’s not all aces though. You’ll have to be aware of the danger ahead.
You can also pick up a number of new weapons and abilities as well as take down a handful of those grunts. You’ll also be able to turn into a wolf for the cost of the flamethrower ability, which you can use to attack enemies. You’ll also be able to set traps that can be shot on unsuspecting enemies. You’ll even be able to create a lightning-strike, which you can use to electrocute and damage your foes. Then there’s your usual arsenal of projectile attacks, including your usual projectiles. You’ll also be able to change into a jack of all trades when things get hairy.
The audio also has a fair share of changes.
The designers have clearly heard the complaints about the control scheme and have decided that using the Wii Remote can be a bit tricky. They’ve also added a ton of new features that will give players the ability to fire at enemies from different angles. For example, when you fire at an enemy and shoot at him from a different angle, you’ll be able to take out multiple enemies at once. The motion controls also allow for some interesting puzzles that will test your ability to navigate through the environment.
We played the first chapter of the game for our preview event. A team of four knights went through a few stages of the game, fighting enemies and navigating obstacles. When the Wii Remote’s gyroscope was on, the knight moved his sword and started a series of attacks. Once he hit a wall, he ran up to a wall, and had to release the stylus just like the Wii Remote. The knights could then attack by tapping on the screen, but he didn’t do much damage. That’s where the most fun of these Zelda-like stages came in. It’s a lot like exploring an open world, with no loading screens, but there is a surprising amount of exploration as you come across chests that can contain some of the weapons and other items that you may have missed. There are also other treasures scattered throughout the world that are worth noting, as well.
This means that you’ll have a fun time actually playing Zelda. As in other RPGs, you can now map your map to the sides of your screen, and instead of clicking on an empty area, you click on it and a pop-up will appear on your menu. This is called the stamina meter, and it allows you to move your character and your weapons in any direction. In most RPGs, you usually just have to wait for an opportune moment to get back on your feet, but here, your stamina is taken to the next level. In the Zelda-like world, stamina is your life, and as such, you have to ensure that you are running, attacking, and using your resources efficiently. There are a few items that are useful for this, but generally, you’ll want to go ahead and activate them manually.
At any rate, this should get you going.
Anyway, as with most RPGs, you’ll find that most of the time, you’ll simply find your character walking on a random floor with no stamina, and in the vein of a piece of wood, waiting for you to come upon something new. For instance, if you look over the glowing patches of floor tiles, you’ll see a book, which will let you select a set of commands. There’s nothing there that forces you to engage with this objective; there’s just the fun part; you’ll want to make sure you have a set of spells that enable you to hit a set number of foes at once, then press the X button at the same time to raise the hit.
